“There is a house in New Orleans, They call the Rising Sun, And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy, And God I know I'm one…”
As the song continues, Talon speaks… keeping his eyes on the road the entire time.
Talon, “Senester, I’m sure you are disappointed that I haven’t been on TV foaming at the mouth, licking my wounds, or airing my life for your amusement this week… I opted to go another rout, and that was to conduct my business under the radar this time… I spent a day back in Fayetteville sitting at my brother’s resting place, I sat there for hours just talking to him. I know he can’t say anything back, but I did it anyways… I spent the rest of that day talking to my father, yeah you said I’d do that… and you were right. Did you think that by “calling” my every move, that it would discourage me from mending a few fences before stepping into the ring with you?”
Talon's grip tightens on the old leather wrapped steering wheel; his eyes narrow as he focuses on the small lines on the road passing quicker and quicker as he speeds up.
Talon, "My father and I seem to have come to a point in each of our lives were we realize life is too short to hold grudges, and he has forgiven me for what I did to my sister. He is also going to be in attendance at Blood Sweat and Tears tonight. He is going to look into your eyes at ringside, and he is going to watch as I do something that no one really expects. The deck is stacked against me once again, you and I in the ring... and you've seemingly made sure that my friends, my allies, and your other enemies are going to be pretty banged up come 'show time'... but I am going to walk out of the Target Center, not with a limp, not on a stretcher... I am going to WALK out free from your torment. I promise everyone that."
(song continues) "My mother was a tailor, She sewed my new bluejeans, My father was a gamblin' man, Down in New Orleans... "
The guitar continues to play the riff as Talon continues.
Talon, "Sen... you keep saying that I am first in line, that I'm the first example of what happens to the NWO or anyone else who opposes you, but you are wrong. The only example that will be set will not be at my expense. You underestimate what drives me. You fail to see that I am better today than I was when I won the World title, wiser, smarter, stronger, and faster than I was when I won Ring Master. While I may not demand the spotlight be shone on me like I did then, do not mistake that for me no longer being able to tow the line. You will see soon that I am still in Championship form. There is no man in the HWA who can stand toe to toe with me. If there was, then they would be the one standing across from you in the ring tonight... Senester, I know why you target me, even after saying I am no longer in your 'favor' it's simple. I am the best. You see me as the threat, as well as the one who got away, but a great threat to your agenda being forced, your 'will' being done."
"Now the only thing a gambler needs, Is a suitcase and trunk, And the only time he's satisfied, Is when he's on a drunk"
Talon's Chevelle speeds down the interstate, a light rain beginning to splatter on the windshield, causing the dark night to seem even darker. The song goes into its lead as Talon passes a small white hybrid car while turning on his windshield wipers.
Talon, "As far as the rest of my brothers in the New World Order... after the cameras stopped rolling on Eddie's promo... We calmed things down and had a pretty serious discussion. Eddie is like my brother, just as Mike was... So I told him, I begged him; no matter what happens at B.S.T. He has to stay in the back. I don't want to see him run into something and leave hurt. It's Senester, and sooner or later everyone's number seems to get called, Eddie has lucked out over the past year with Sen, but eventually everyone has to play his game... So Ed... PLEASE stay in the back tonight when I go through the curtain... please."
"Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun"
Talon continues to ignore the camera lens and keeps his eyes focused on the road and traffic ahead of him. The rain gets harder and harder as it beats against the metal roof of the '67 muscle car.
Talon, "...Ronnie, I'm going to be stopping by your locker room as soon I as get to the arena because we both need clear minds before we step into our matches... You need to walk out of this night with the World title; we worked too hard over the past 9 months to let Hans walk out with it again after one month... "
Talon exits the interstate as the rain lightens slightly…He approaches the Target Center, arriving around the back, he flashes his “HWA employee” badge to the security around the back of the building and pulls into the designated parking area… as he does, he looks over at the camera.
Talon, “Senester, Soon we will ‘dance’ …and you are correct when you say that it will be epic, unforgettable, and truly a moment that lives forever in the history books of the HWA… This battle can only end one way; and I will see that it does end with me as the Last Man Standing…”
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one
The scene fades momentarily as Talon exits the car and walks toward the Target Center.
