He nods to someone off-camera, and begins.
(Hans): Talon Wilkinson… No doubt you’re feeling like the king of the jungle. The top dog, in all but name. Your eyes have been opened, as it were.
Pity.
You won’t realize this for many months Talon, but yours eyes have been opened so far you’re now blinded.
I should know, I went exactly the same process that you’re now beginning.
Oh, different circumstances, and different methods of ‘betrayal’ for sure, but the end results the same; you’ve gained the affection of Senester, Dark Horse Towers becomes your home and whatever friends or family you had are nought but ants as you look on down at them… and that’s even if they survive you burning your bridges in whatever suitable manner pleases our ‘Lord’…
The perks, and there are many, are now yours to sample at your very whim. Those that were your equals in the locker room are now merely playthings. All the world is a stage, and you are the lead actor.
Enjoy it while you can, the fine foods, the wine, every indulgence and whim served up for you on a fine platter, for when you look back on it, it’ll all be so hollow. Give in to your base emotions, let them run wild across the lands that Senester has allowed you access to… while it lasts.
…
How long will you last Talon, I wonder?
You’ve given yourself to him, thrown yourself into his embrace in a style befitting someone he’s longed for for so long… but, like everyone else who’s walked the path you’re now on, it’s not enough.
Bed yourself down and strap in tight Talon, for you’re soon to find that our lord demands constant devotion, and sacrifice if you’re to remain at his side. Yes, you’ve ruined your own life, along with that of your family’s, but ours is not a merciful god, and you’ll soon find yourself playing your role in the destruction of other families.
In fact, you might be somewhat inclined to draw parallels with the concept of ‘total war’, when referring to how our lord deals with things that displease him.
I was lucky, you might say, and got out before I did more than just ruin a close friend’s career; will you?
Senester asked me to speak to Butch, and to ask what it was like to go up against God… I’ll get to the answer in a moment, once I’ve asked one of my own to you Talon. I ask, what does it take from you to run alongside him? It’ll be interesting to hear what you have to say now, and when I ask it again once you’ve come to your senses.
But to answer the question that was given to me. Yes, Senester, I know what it’s like to go up against God, or rather, the person proclaiming himself ‘god’. Spin it however you want, but the bruises that flourished from where my fists connected with you last week at the ‘Harvest’, and the breath I ejected from your lungs as I hit you with a ‘Blitzkrieg’ set you alongside the rest of us mere mortals.
You’re right in that I have yet to claim a ‘real’ victory over you; but then, since when have you cared one jot for statistics such as a win/loss ratio? This match you’ve booked me in for “Fatality”, and indeed this one at the coming Havoc, in my eyes is just like your lovely little portrait of America, with its apple pie, white-washed picket fences and idyllic vistas which has no real connection with the real world. This match, and those to come… for there will be many, is far removed from what has come before.
I have to ask you though, my ‘lord’. Is that what you think I desire? The ideal life? Something untouched by the cruel hand of reality?
…
Just curious.
At anyrate, our last coming together at the Australian tour all those many, many nights ago was nothing more than an appetizer.
And it could be argued, so was the last time that Talon and I faced of as well, if his words are to be taken as truth…
That must have… hurt you Talon, no? Going out into that squared circle, in front of not only the thousands there in person, but in the millions of people watching on their TV screens, and having to lose, not to mention everything else…
…
Although that’s mainly due to time constraints…
…
But I digress. All that talk about having that single goal, and not being told you had to let me win, yeah? How did it end? That’s right. With me taking you out with a Blockbuster from the barricade. Like it or not Talon, you’d better be praying to our ‘lord’ that he doesn’t change the stipulation for your match with McNeil at “Fatality” to another triple threat!
He smiles a taut smile, showing teeth in an almost predatory fashion as the scene fades to black.
