(Senester): There…right there…that white vehicle…get a trace on those plates, I want to know who that is. I want a profile on every person who entered that building, and I want it today.
Senester exits the room leaving the staff to do their work and speak amongst themselves.
(New Employee): God, does he always stand right behind you, breathing down our necks. It makes me fuking nervous man.
(Employee 2): You’re new so I’m only going to explain this to you one time. Keep your mouth shut, your eyes on your work and you’ll survive this place. If you feel the need to be chummy then pick someone else…I don’t need him or the golden boy coming in here on my ass.
(New Employee): Whatever dude.
2 Hours Later
Senester is in a meeting with Dark Horse Legal going over some of the specifics of their HWA case. The meeting seems to have been going on for a little while already.
(Senester): That’s beside the point. What I want to know is which one of you is responsible for this? Which one of you let “this man” (pointing to the screen at the image of Logan Neilson) slip through the cracks.
The team of lawyers start looking from one to another, none of them with an explanation.
(Senester): No one? Not a single one of you? You…what’s your name? Cynthia or whatever…maybe you can explain to me how Logan Neilson and the prosecution even spoke, let alone made arrangements for his testimony without any one at this table supposedly knowing?
(Cynthia): Well my Lord, I believe it happened quite quickly. It would appear that…
(Senester): Shut up! I’m not interested in what you “believe” or what things “appear” to be. I want answers, I want facts. Logan Neilson gets HWA ratings. His little quarrel with Talon last year brought in a significant increase in merchandise revenue, and ppv buy rates. He doesn’t have the right not to re-sign his contract. He belongs to me, he belongs to HWA, he belongs in that ring jumping through the hoops that I tell him to and “you” (slamming his fist into the table) you let him slip off into the shadows.
(Lawyer): My Lord if I may….ummm…..well…. it may help you to know that this occurred rather suddenly. Mr. Neilson only made the decision not to return to HWA the very same day that he was contacted by the prosecution, there was very little time to react.
(Senester): Exactly how does that help me Mr. Jacobs? Are you a magician? Can you weave your powers to reverse time and find that small window of opportunity where you could have acted on this?
(Lawyer): No sir, I just meant that you might see that it is not our fault.
Senester starts walking over towards him, comes up behind him putting his hands on his shoulders.
(Senester): I see. You’re aware of the price of failure and you’re concerned about the well being of yourself and your comrades.
(Lawyer): Yes my lord, it really isn’t our…
A crunch is heard suddenly as Senester snaps his neck, a gasp is heard in the room before his head hits the table. Senester stands there looking around the room sternly at everyone sitting upright and at full attention.
(Senester): Make no mistake…you’re not here to be concerned with your well being, I am God…your only concern is my will. Your concern is protecting my investments. Mr. Jacobs seemed to suggest that his welfare, that your welfare were more important than that, and he was mistaken. There shall be none above me. You’ve placed me in a difficult situation. I must curtail this little enterprise of Mr. Neilson myself. I’ll deal with you each of you soon enough for your neglect in this matter, but for now…we are days away from court. I want to know the moment his flight to Los Angeles is booked. I want to know everything from the height the plane is flying to the moment his first toe touches the ground, to when and where he crosses paths with so much as a fly to his meetings with people. Get it done people!
Senester heads towards the door when he turns back looking at Mr. Jacobs slumped over the table.
(Senester): And make sure you get rid of that before you leave.
The door slams behind him and they team of lawyers take a deep sigh as if having held their breaths the last hour. They look over at Mr. Jacobs and a cold shiver hits their spine and the scene fades to black.
