"And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it." (Deuteronomy 28:63)
In his office Senester sits in deep contemplation, running his fingertip over the rim of a glass of cognac.
(Senester): 2 years, 6 months, and 17 days. That is how long it has been since I took the man who called himself Michael Dredge and crushed him with my will and insurmountable power.
Senester seems to be watching a video, his eyes fixed on the wall across the room as he takes a sip from his glass.
January 20, 2010
…………..Before Vanessa can finish her attention is drawn into the crowd where fans are screaming and cheering as we see Michael Dredge making his way through the crowd escorted by security. He hops the barricade and looks around the arena with a broad smile as a “Dredge…Dredge…Dredge” chant thunders out through the crowd.
(Vanessa): I can’t say this is a surprise, the man himself Michael Dredge. We knew he would be here.
(Jason): He’s too stupid not to come. I hope he knows he just signed his own death certificate.
(Vanessa): There you go drawing conclusions prematurely again.
Dredge makes his way to the ring and is handed a mic.
(Dredge): Well here I am Senester so get your ass out here. This…this right here has nothing to do with the fans so leave them out of it, this has nothing to do with Talon so leave him out of it too. This was and has only been about you and me. Before I met you I could sleep straight through the night….now I always wake up throughout. Before I met you…my knees and my back didn’t creek when I walked, now I’ve got the arthritis of a 75 year old. I could stand here and do a 20-30 minute promo running my mouth about the past and who did what to who and yadda…yadda…yadda, but these people already know all that. The time for talk is over…let’s finish this!
"Navarros" by Juno Reactor hits the darkened arena and, a purple light hits the stage as Senester emerges from a cloudy fog. He lifts his head with a look of disgust on his and begins to walk down the ramp looking directly into the ring at Dredge with a sick grin on his face. Black and white feathers begin to fall around the arena bursting into flames on their way down. He steps up the stairs and slowly slithers into the ring, and meets Dredge in the center. Senester looks to the side at fans as does Dredge as the arena trembles with “Dredge” chants.
(Senester): Michael…Michael…Michael…you shouldn’t have come, but I knew you would.
Dredge looks down at the tote-bag in Senester’s hands.
(Dredge): Bag of tricks Senester?
Senester steps forward looking down at Dredge with the few inch difference between them.
(Dredge): What? You’ve got nothing to say? No grand “godly” ####ing speech?
He just smiles at Dredge.
(Senester): Goodbye Michael!
The lights in the arena begin to flash as a cage lowers to the ring. The cage is slightly different from others is closed on top; it has thicker black bars, and lacks any entry or exit point. It closes down over the ring where they are truly caged in. There is no referee, there is no bell, there are no rules, there is only the sound of over 20,000 fans who have braved the cold to pack the Nationwide Arena to now boo Senester and chant the name of Michael Dredge. They stand staring at one another, Senester with the clear size advantage, but Dredge demonstrates his quickness from the get-go with a stinging slap that wipes the smug look of Senester’s face. Senester turns back to Dredge and they begin to unleash a barrage of blows upon one another…Senester with hard staggering rights and Dredge with quick, stunning jabs. As he should have expected Dredge’s groin takes an early attack as Senester rams his knee into them doubling him over. He spins Dredge around and rams his head into the cage. Dredge tries to block and Senester rakes him in the eyes and rams him in again repeatedly until blood is evident. He lets go and Dredge spins around draped on the ropes looking dazed. Senester grabs him by the hair and snapmares him to the mat. He hits the ropes and taking him by the head and flips over him into a Curt Henning neckbreaker. The Dredge chants continue as Senester dominates and he pulls Dredge up whipping him hard into the corner. He follows in for a clothesline and Dredge ducks from the corner. Senester crashes in holding his arm as he turns about and Dredge nails him with “Swift Cut” (Superkick). The fans go ballistic as Dredge drops to a knee, blood dripping from his forehead while Senester tries to get his bearings sitting up with a glassy look in his eyes.
Dredge is up first and he waits for Senester to rise before he nails him across the chest with a knife-edge chop. He shoves Senester into the corner and trades off in a classic Hulk Hogan style combination of knife-edge chops and solid shots to the head rocking Senester in the corner. Dredge wipes blood from his head and slaps Senester across the face with his open palm. He pulls him from the corner and hoists Senester up into a crucifix, he muscles him into position and takes a few steps back before driving Senester into the side of the cage. The fans are going wild as Dredge starts to take control of the match, keeping Senester on the mat with kicks as he tries to come back to his feet. Dredge pulls him up, hooking his arm and leg and flings back into a side Russian-Leg Sweep that he rolls through and delivers another. He rolls through that one as well to deliver a third and comes back up once again, this time dropping forward slamming Senester’s face to the mat. A winded Dredge sits on the mat as the fans cheer and he pulls himself up heading for the ropes. He goes to the top rope and comes diving off with the "Old Glory" (Flying Elbow drop) driving it right into Senester’s chest.
(Vanessa): What are they going to do just fight until one of them can’t stand up anymore? There’s no referee here to regulate anything, this could go on all night.
(Jason): This is a treat for the fans, Senester vs. Michael Dredge…it hardly gets bigger than this. These people will sit here until this time next week if that’s how long it takes for this fight to be over, but I doubt it’s going to take Senester that long to do away with Dredge.
(Vanessa): More like the opposite.
Dredge pulls himself up and goes up once again to deliver a second elbow, coming off the ropes with a perfectly calculated “Old Glory” and drives the point of his elbow into the canvas as Senester rolls out of the way. Dredge draws his arm in towards him in sheer pain as she shoots up to his feet holding his arm. Senester slithers up a fiendish glare in his eyes as he holds the back of his aching neck and comes in at Dredge. Dredge swings with a right, but drops his arm down when an intense pain shoots from his elbow up, and Senester takes the opening to nail him between the eyes with a solid shot. He hoists Dredge up onto his shoulders and darts him head-first into the cage, he holds him up still and rams him into the other side, and only finishes after he hits all four sides. The fans are booing and Dredge lays on the mat. Senester reaches down pulling back his knee pad exposing a second underneath with a steel plate on the front. He comes off the ropes and drops a knee down into Dredge’s face and he hollers in pain upon impact. Senester comes off the ropes again and drives another down into Dredge’s face, hearing the crunch of bone as he slams down into Dredge’s nose. He goes to the corner and unties the turnbuckle pads and before returning to Dredge and pulling him up. He shoves him into the corner and begins ramming shoulders into his midsection before bringing him out by the arm and whipping him back in. Senester keeps hold of Dredge’s arm and continues to yank him from the corner and whip him back in, bloody welts forming on Dredge’s back before he gets a boot to the gut and is sent hard into the exposed steel once more with the "Deliverance" (A powerbomb into the corner.) Dredge falls down to his face and Senester gets puts his foot on the back of his neck, stepping down with his weight on him.
(Vanessa): Look at him…what is this son-of-a-b###h plotting now.
(Jason): Whatever it is, it’s not going to be good for Dredge, I can tell you that.
Senester pulls Dredge up and hoists him into a suplex position before running back and ramming Dredge’s back into the cage. He pulls him up and locks him into the "Lethal Lament" (Tourture Rack) in the center of the ring. Dredge’s back arched horribly as Senester’s pulls him down vigorously across his shoulders. He muscles him up over his head and drives him down into his knee into a serious back breaker. Wails of agony are matched only by the anguish on Dredge’s face as she shout’s “#### You” at Senester. Dredge squirms to the ropes with Senester close behind him, toying with him as he tries pulling himself up only for Senester to kick his hand off the ropes each time. He backs off and allows Dredge to the ropes where he starts to pull himself up, but Senester suddenly hits the back rope and comes in with a squatting splash right back into his spine. Dredge’s arm is twitching as he lays on the mat.
(Vanessa): My God…I think he may have broken Dredge’s back. This has got to stop.
(Jason): And who’s going to stop it? Senester was right…look around…Dredge doesn’t have any real friends.
Meanwhile…in the backstage locker room. The cameras find Talon in his locker room with Ally…
(Ally): You should just have the match postponed Talon, you’re still hurt from your accident, please be careful…
(Talon): I’ve got to do this tonight, no way around it Ally, but I will be careful, doc’s told me I could compete if I did this…
Talon lifts his shirt to reveal his ribs and midsection to be heavily taped.
(Talon): I’ll be fine sis, but you have to stay back here tonight, I know me and Logan wanted you to come down with us originally but it’s safer this way… especially with Eddie rampaging…I can’t believe he even threatened to come after you….just promise me…
(Ally): I already promised Logan I’d stay back here, but if it makes you feel better, I promise I’ll stay out of it tonight…
(Talon): Where is Logan any way?
(Ally): He’s getting “in the zone” that whole scene earlier really fired him up. He says he has to be alone right before his matches to get in the right mindset.
(Talon): I used to be that way too…
(Ally): God, I know… like when you played football.
(Talon): yup, exactly the same… 90% of its half mental…
(Ally): That didn’t make any sense at all.
(Talon): It wasn’t supposed to… trust me.
(Ally): So… when are you gonna tell me what happened with the car wreck?
(Talon): I’ll tell you next week, I promise, I just have to wait for some legal stuff to clear up with the attorneys before I can make any statements.
(Ally): You could tell me in private you know!
(Talon): Like we ever have privacy… c’mon now Ally…
(Ally): True… well, I’m going to go find Logan, Good luck out there tonight…
Ally hugs her brother before leaving the room. Talon stands up and stretches as he looks over finally taking notice of the action on the monitor and what’s going on out in the arena and he sees Dredge and Senester in the ring.
(Talon): Shit!
Talon jumps up and heads out the door as the camera goes back to the arena. Back ringside Senester has Dredge up and sends him hard into the corner. He comes in after him and Dredge catches him with a boot. Senester staggers back shaking it off and Dredge staggers from the corner and kicks him right in the groin. The fans are going wild and Senester goes down to his knees. Dredge is hunched over, his arm limp beside him as if partially paralyzed as his back throbs in complete and intense pain. The fans begin cheering and he pays it no attention, but they cheer for Talon who is rushing down to the ring. Talon is at the cage looking up and seeing no way in up top, and goes around the ring looking for a door to no avail. Dredge finally spots him and gives him a thumbs up as he pulls Senester to his feet. Dredge jabs him with lefts, and leaps up with a standing enziguri. Both men hit the mat and Dredge stays there on the canvas hardly able to move. Talon is yelling in at him wondering what the hell he is doing, yelling “just get out of there” Dredge ignores him as he comes back to his feet as Senester rises. He manages a very brief sprint and catches him in the face with a high-knee that sends Senester back down. Dredge loses his balance and he tumbles into the ropes holding his back. The fans and Talon look on with great concern as Dredge takes a deep breath and starts going up to the ropes again.
(Jason): Is this ####er insane? How in the hell is he even moving right now?
(Vanessa): It’s Dredge’s never quite mentality. Somewhere deep down he pulls up the ability to will his battered body into motion and do amazing things.
(Jason): He’s an idiot.
Dredge stands on the top rope, he forces himself into a completely upright position, as you see his body tremble with the effort, and he flies off the top rope with the "101st Air Bourne Salute" (Inverted shooting star press -double flips in air before impact.) Dredge hits the move but is still in a significant measure of pain as he stays on the mat. Senester rolls over kicking him in the face as he reaches to the ropes and pulls himself up. He goes to the cage and starts climbing up as Dredge lays on the mat and monkey bars his way over Dredge before he drops down with knee right into Dredge’s face once again with that plated knee pad. Dredge looks out cold as Senester staggers up to his feet. He looks over at Talon on the outside and walks over towards him. Talon is shouting and spits at Senester. Senester looks down at him with a sadistic smile turning back to Dredge that he grabs by the hair and drags him to the cage in front of Talon. A lifeless Dredge’s face is pressed into the cage, Senester using his feet to shove Dredge into the cage as Talon watches yelling “It’s me you want, leave him out of it” Senester soon stops and leans in at Talon by the cage.
(Senester): Do you love me Talon?
(Talon): I Fuking hate you!
(Senester): No you don’t….but you’re about to!
Senester rises, pulling Dredge up and "Jacobs Ladder" (Hoists opponent up into a vertical suplex position and brings them down into an inverted piledriver). He pulls a lifeless Dredge up and lifts him once more into the devastating “Jacobs Ladder.” He kneels down hammering Dredge in the forehead and the camera quickly changes views spotting Dredge’s eyes halfway rolled into his head. Senester pulls him up and tucks his head into position once more and drills him to the mat with the “Jacobs Ladder” Again, Dredge lands on the mat head-first, his neck bending upon impact as Senester drives him to the mat.
(Jason): Sweet Fuking Jesus!
(Vanessa): Okay…this has got to stop…somebody has to do something before he kills him.
(Jason): Yeah right…Talon can’t even get in the cage.
Talon is going nuts ringside, kicking at the cage as he looks at Dredge’s limp body in the ring as Senester gets handed a mic. Talon grabs hold of the cage and starts climbing up. The fans are on their feet as he ascends the cage and reaches the top stomping on the top to no avail. The steel bars firmly fashioned into place despite his every effort.
(Senester): Are you people bored yet? How many times have you seen this? Someone decimated in the ring with the future of their career hanging in the balance.
Senester kneels down turning Dredge over on his back, his eyes are open but he isn’t moving and looks like he’s trying to talk. Senester looks down at him, grabbing his face by the chin squeezing.
(Senester): You’ve brought this upon yourself. This pain. This misery. In the back of your mind you’re already planning your recovery aren’t you? You’re thinking of your physical therapy sessions to bring you back to physical form…so you can return and face me once again. Instead…think of the moment you abandoned the love of God. Think of the times you’ve betrayed me. Think of those you counted your friends. Think of your family. Think quickly, as I snatch everything you’ve ever known and loved away from you.
Senester pulls Dredge up, and clearly he cannot stand on his own. His head lobs to the side, his legs and arms are loose and limp as he’s dragged to the corner. He shoves him in tying his hands into the turnbuckle exposing his back to the ring as Dredge hangs down. Senester goes to the side opening the bag he first brought into the ring pulling out a weight belt that looks wet, and certainly enough it is as moments later it is ignited into flames. He wields the thick, burning, weight belt and unleashes an outbreak of lashes into Dredge’s back. Each stinging shot searing the wounds it just opened as the flames burn his flesh. Dredge starts becoming a little more animated, now screaming in complete and utter torture. Again and again, he’s whipped until the very last of the flames on the belt go out. Talon meanwhile has climbed down the cage and rushes over to Dredge’s side. The look of complete helplessness on his face as he reaches out for Talon, his hand quivering as he holds it up as if only he could touch his friend would he be saved. Senester yanks Dredge’s head back, his arms still tied into the corner and he leans in biting Dredge on the neck. Dredge quivers as he sinks his teeth into him and pulls back a chunk of flesh. Senester looks down outside the ring and spits the piece of Dredge’s neck in Talon’s face.
(Vanessa): Oh God…I’m gonna be sick.
Dredge’s neck is squirting blood as Senester reaches into the bag again and pulls out a syringe holding it up as it may look familiar to Talon. He jabs it into Dredge’s neck before he unties Dredge who drops to the mat convulsing and foaming at the mouth, blood staining the canvas. Talon is tugging and pulling on the cage but with no opening he finds no weak spot to exploit. “Fuk You…..You son-of-a-bytch” Talon shouts repeatedly at Senester who turns to him Dredge’s blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. Senester just looks blankly at Talon, a crazed, careless look with his deep blue eyes before he turns back to Dredge. He grabs his arm sticking his foot on the back of Dredge’s elbow before locking in the "Pantheon of Pain" (Compression lock submission hold, targeting select body parts) He applies pressure until Dredge’s arm breaks inward. Dredge passes out as Senester goes to work on his opposite arm. He holds him in position again maintaining eye contact with Talon who turns his head squinting as he hears the pop of the bones. “Fuking Coward” Talon yells as he shakes the cage, his eyes raging with tears as his friend and mentor is decimated before his eyes. Small portions of the arena begin to empty as a few parents take their young children and begin to exit, removing them from the horror inside the ring. Blood is staining the mat everywhere. EMT’s have long made their way down to the ring as Senester lies beside Dredge, brushing his hair back so he can see his swollen and battered face.
(Senester): You’ve come in folly. I am the incontrovertible alpha and the omega and there is nothing under my creation or within your futile attempts that could have even bring you to the feet of my throne.
Senester holds Dredge’s hand feeling his pulse. He just sits there in the ring for what seems like minutes, his eyes fixed on Talon the whole time, every waning beat a symphony until he drops his hand and smiles. Senester rises looks up where the cage begins to rise and “Navarros” by Juno Reactor hits the arena. He stands in the corner as EMT’s and Talon bomb-rushes the ring. Talon grabbing Dredge’s lifeless hand as EMT’s put a ventilation mask on him and begin pumping air. Talon looks over at Senester in the corner who slowly cracks a broad smile at him before he rolls out of the ring.
(Jason): This does not look good. Why did he have to come…so stupid!
(Vanessa): That’s who Michael Dredge is…he’s never backed down from anything. I just hope he’s ok.
(Jason): Ok? There are half-dead people trapped under rubble in Haiti that are in better condition than him right now.
Every form of cup, bottle and item of food is being tosses at Senester as he makes his way up the ramp with the Columbus, Ohio crowd in a complete uproar. He stops at the top of the stage as they get Dredge on a gurney, strap him in and begin to rush him up the ramp. Senester turns and kicks the gurney knocking it off the side of the cage. A strapped in Dredge falls front down onto the cement floor of the arena. Talon’s eyes go wide and he rushes up the ramp at Senester who darts to the back grinning. The EMT’s scramble to get Dredge upright as the rush him down the side of the stage to the back. The cameras follow as they hurry to the back and waste no time getting him in the ambulance. Mr. Herrington is there talking with Talon.
(Mr. Herrington): No….you stay here son…I’ll go with him.
(Talon): You call when you hear anything.
(Mr. Herrington): Of course.
Mr. Herrington barley hops in the ambulance before it starts to tear out of the garage, lights flashing and the sound of the siren blaring as it hits the street outside. Talon stands there, he looks at his hands smeared with Dredge’s blood and sighs deeply. He’s so frustrated he starts kicking in the side of a car parked next to him when Logan runs up.
(Logan): Hey…Hey…man…you can’t lose it man, not yet!
(Talon): ……………………………………………….
(Logan): Come on.
Logan puts his arm around Talon’s shoulder and they walk back to the locker room, and the camera goes back to the arena.
(Vanessa): I want to apologize to the families out there for what you’ve just seen. There is no excuse for it.
(Jason): Who could have expected this? I thought he’d rough him up a bit. Ya know? Give him a little beat down and send him on his way, but this…this was…I don’t think anyone knows how far Senester will go.
The footage ends and Senester gets up with a wry smile.
(Senester): 2 years, 6 months, 17 days Michael Dredge. That is what happens to those who dare oppose me, who bring their petty wars and their self-imagined importance and superiorities with the hopes of defeating God in some delusion state of grandeur. It was the night you “died.” The night I rid the world as they knew it of you, and indulged your death in the wake of your ultimate humility, yet here and now, you resurface…with the same impotent threats of false virtue. Has the burden of exile grown too great for you? After these years of extensive physical recovery have you also regained the ridiculous notion that this is an alternate universe, one in which you could best me? I don’t know how Holder discovered your secret and wooed you from the shadows. I don’t know what paltry trinkets he has promised you, but your wretched testimony won’t make so much as a ripple let alone turn the tide in this trial. This is the last week I will allow these courtroom charades to continue. You should know by now that I don’t lose.
Talon belongs to me. You have no idea how I plan on him shaping the future of HWA. He is not your pupil, he is not your fledgling in need of your nourishing knowledge. There is nothing you can provide that he needs or desires. I have raised him above the common people for a reason. I have given him purpose and focus…the world at his fingertips. Stay away from him, and return to your own family. Walk away Dredge. Your little 15-minutes of nostalgic fame is over. History has a way of repeating itself doesn’t it Michael? You had best make certain that this is a history you are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to repeat. Let the man test his fate once more, and the shred of mercy once bestowed upon him will be a distant memory as I dissolve the life he has left into oblivion.
Senester looks at the old image of Dredge in the video with disgust and hurls his glass at the screen as the scene fades to black.
