A video feed just published on HWA’s website is being viewed by thousands as Mrs. Shevington makes a pre-Havoc address to superstars and fans.
(Mrs. Elizabeth Shevington): Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I am Elizabeth Shevington, HWA Executive Director of Business Affairs. On behalf of the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance, its staff and especially its superstars…I would like to take this opportunity to that our fans for your tremendous support of our Fatality ppv. Not only did we have a sold out arena, but a near 20% increase in PPV viewership since Road to Ruin last year. As we look forward to Havoc, there are few items of general housekeeping that I must address.
She’s gets up from her seat and walks over to a large SmartBoard on the wall that illustrates the HWA roster. She presses her finger on the HWA Tag Team Champions H&K to bring them into a larger, isolated view.
(Mrs. Elizabeth Shevington): As it relates to the HWA Tag Team Championship match at Fatality. Mr. Kosh…Mr. Heckler…your actions were nothing short of unsporting, and disgraceful. The fans anticipating a championship match were woefully disappointed by your refusal to appropriately defend the titles, and your opponents were denied their right to fair competition. Therefore, at Havoc…you will defend the HWA Tag Team Championship, and like Fatality your opponents will be named at that time. Gentlemen…there will be no shenanigans this night. If you are disqualified, or counted out…you will automatically forfeit the titles to your opponents.
She switches the screen back to the roster and selects Sheik Shakir. She pauses a moment taking a sigh.
(Mrs. Elizabeth Shevington): Some people may feel that due to their associations they have an immunity to the rules and regulations of this organization. I assure you Shakir that while you may be awarded the occasional liberty, you are every bit subject to policy as everyone else. Your deplorable actions at Fatality left a fellow superstar, Santa Claus, hospitalized with burns and a mild concussion, and endangered the safety of our audience. Currency may mean little to someone of your “modest” choice of living, but a fine of $50,000 is nonetheless imposed.
She looks disgusted by the fact that for his actions it seems such an imbalanced punishment. She quickly returns to the roster screen and highlights Michael James.
(Mrs. Elizabeth Shevington): Congratulations Mr. James on becoming the HWA World Heavyweight Champion. However, as is customary to single championship duality, you are now faced with a decision. By Havoc you must decide which of your two championships you will relinquish. The HWA All Star Championship…or the HWA World Heavyweight Championship. While the choice may seem obvious to many, it is not one to take lightly. I am reminded of the history of this great organization where there have been those who have foregone the World Title for the prestige of other gold. I await your decision.
She removes Michael James from the screen and goes over to Freddie Styles.
(Mrs. Elizabeth Shevington): Last but not least…congratulations are also in order for you Mr. Styles. You are the new #1 contender to the All Star Championship. Should Michael James elect to retain the title, the arrangements of your championship match are without question in order. However, should the title be relinquished…it raises the question of your contender-ship. In the spirit of sportsmanship it would seem unfair to merely award you the title, however…you are the sole survivor of what was an extensive tournament and it would be equally unreasonable to make you compete once again for a contender-ship you have already earned. It may also seems unreasonable to seek a second #1 contender awarding those who just lost their opportunity in this past tournament…a second chance. Should it come to pass, I will not make this decision lightly Mr. Styles and it is not one to be envied.
She returns the screen to the HWA Roster and then heads back to her desk.
(Mrs. Elizabeth Shevington): I am looking forward to Havoc and I trust our superstars are eager to follow-up what was an amazing ppv at Fatality. We’ll see you there.
