(Chris Wragge): The Hardcore Wrestling Alliance made news last night following their long awaited return to network television. (Mary Calvi): That’s right Chris, a star-studded Reunion from Madison Square Garden showcased some pretty big names, the likes of Buff Bridges, Maniac, even Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. (Chris Wragge): What do you gotta do to get an invite to that thing? (Mary Calvi): It was something that rivaled the Oscars that’s for certain. (Chris Wragge): Superstars spanning the companies the long history were in attendance from Steven Angel, Bryan Deas, Stu-E Price and Draconis to legendary appearances by ICE, Blush, Luscious Lenny and many more. (Mary Calvi): That Blush’s she’s still quite the sweetheart isn’t she? (Chris Wragge): Indeed she is, but the night was highlighted by the Hall of Fame induction of Ronnie McNeil who gave a powerful and profound acceptance speech. (Mary Calvi): So impactful, and it was also a night to showcase their up and coming stars: Matt Miller, Jeremey Branson, and Michelle Learner. (Chris Wragge): However, in true pro-wrestling fashion…the night was not without its drama Mary. (Mary Calvi): Oh boy was it not, from an altercation between Brandi Rhodes, wife of WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes who both were in attendance to the shocking news of the death of former HWA superstar Eddie Phoenix. (Chris Wragge): And what about his son? The sudden appearance of his apparently deeply distraught son. (Mary Calvi): That was very difficult to watch Chris, and we hope to get more details soon into the stunning news of Phoenix’s death and the ongoing situation with his family. (Chris Wragge): All in all, a very successful night for HWA, anyone who is a fan of the sport surely had an enjoyable trip down memory lane and a glimpse of things to come. (Mary Calvi): Owners, Butch and Wisdom Parker have had their hands full since the January’s announcement of their deal with CBS, and after last night it’s safe to say…those hands are even fuller as they get back into the full swing of things. (Chris Wragge): No doubt about that Mary. In other news…The NYPD continues its investigation in the shooting of Officer Brett Boller, who is expected to make a full, but lengthy recovery. (Mary Calvi): Officials tell us… The scene ends as the news continues.
