A few days into the site renovation of what will be HWA’s new corporate offices and training center sees Wisdom on site with contractors toiling over the intricate details of the layout and design. There were a few supply issues, but nothing that would cause any significant delays. She was standing in what would be her executive office, the new floor hadn’t been put in, and the walls were stripped, but she could see that the buildings new windows were in, electrical work had been done and they were ready to install the new ceilings and recessed lighting today. One of Butch’s offices was next to hers, but he had also planned on a smaller office downstairs on one of the training floors. Her thoughts go to Sean. She was still struggling with the decision she had made taking him off the card, even with Butch’s backing wondering if she made the right call. His recent behavior was totally unacceptable, but it saddened her that he was not here to share in this moment with them when everything was coming together.
Given her own actions at the Reunion Show it also made her feel a bit like a hypocrite. What Brandi did to Michelle, and the awful things she said were way out of line, but did she have to “use her fists instead of her words” like the upset mom at the kids school commented? Why couldn’t she take the high road? Maybe it was the same reason Sean couldn’t when he ran into AC James…they deserved it. The truth of the matter is, Wisdom Parker the wrestler and competitor must take a backseat to Wisdom Parker, HWA Co-Owner, the same way she does for Wisdom Parker, mother of two. She pulls her phone out and snaps a few photos of the work in progress to text Butch, then takes a heavy sigh, flinging her vibrant hair back and makes a call. The phone rings a few times and is picked up, but no one says anything.
(Wisdom): Brandi…you don’t have to say anything, but please listen. I just wanted to apologize for everything that went down. You said some pretty hurtful and untrue things and I overreacted. We’ve all been friends for years and this is certainly no way to strain that relationship. Even if you can’t forgive me, I hope you can at least put things aside for Butch and Cody’s sake. Their friendship doesn’t deserve this tension. I just wanted to say I was sorry, and I hope we can work through this.
(Brandi Rhodes): Are you done?
(Wisdom): Well, I was really hoping we could talk and…
Brandi abruptly cuts her off.
(Brandi Rhodes): You broke my nose you stupid bitch, broke my nose and gave me a goddamn concussion.
(Wisdom): Look, I’m sor….
(Brandi Rhodes): Save it! You can take your apology and go fuk yourself. I know what I said, and I meant every damn word. You Parkers are so pathetic. So desperate to try and rebuild your dilapidated little fed you’ll do and say anything. Butch has been jealous of Cody ever since All In. Jealous because he couldn’t manage to do what Cody did and jumpstart a revolution in wrestling. Jealous because all he could manage was a free Youtube channel and getting some teenagers he pulled off the streets promising to turn them into stars. He must really hurt realizing he wasn't as big a star as he thought he was and no one was coming to his rescue.
(Wisdom): Brandi, that’s not true and you know it!
(Brandi Rhodes): Like hell it isn’t. It’s eaten the two of you alive that we’ve gone on to fame and fortune while the once great Parkers weren’t a marquee name anymore. Didn’t you ever wonder why Cody didn’t invite Butch to All In, or AEW, because he knew you two would latch on like leeches from a filthy lake and he’d have to burn you off.
(Wisdom): That’s enough! I don’t know what’s happened to you and why you insist on pulling this shit out of your ass and eating it, but so far you’re the only one running your mouth. We’d like to hear what Cody has to say, because I’m pretty sure you don’t speak for him.
(Brandi Rhodes): He doesn’t want to talk to you, and he doesn’t want to talk to Butch. Don’t you think he’d have called if he wanted to? Don’t you think he would have returned those stupid texts Butch’s been sending? He’s too busy having the career you both wish you still had, and he doesn’t have time for liars and leeches.
(Wisdom): You know what, I called to apologize, and I did that. If you don’t want to accept it, fine, but I’m done listening to your shit! When and if you’re ready to talk, you know our numbers.
(Brandi Rhodes): You don’t have to worry about that, we won’t be calling!
(Wisdom): Fine, whatever!
Wisdom presses for the call to end and she’s so furious she almost throws the phone at the wall. There’s nothing in the room yet to kick or turnover so she almost slams her fist into the wall, and barely has enough restraint to remember she just got her nails done…and thinks better of it. That fuking Brandi! She had taken the high road here, she wanted to apologize and she did, but she wasn’t going to continue this cycle of having to these absurd fabrications thrown in her face. She was done. She didn’t know about Butch and Cody, but she sure as hell wouldn’t be calling Brandi ever again. She just didn’t know where this all was coming from, but she couldn’t allow herself to care about it anymore. More important things were on her agenda and on the horizon. Wisdom heads out of the room and makes her way downstairs. Over the next 30-minutes she finishes a conversation with the foreman and heads out leaving them all to their work. She looks up at the building, way up 15 or so floors to the top where the HWA Logo will be in a few days.
(Wisdom): Hmph! We’ll see whose jealous soon enough bitch!
Wisdom heads to her car as the scene fades to black.
