However, last Havoc was still quite prevalent for him. It was going to be a few weeks before he was really healed up, the bruises were still there going through their color changing pattern. Black and blue had now turned to some burgundy color, and give him another week he’d be down to the some shades of reddish brown, pink, and all cleared up. He didn’t want to think about that right now, he was trying to enjoy Memorial Day without the thought of Bryan Deas invading or even Draconis, but it was hard. He had fought it all week, and all day but he finally needed to say something. While the onions grilled he grabbed his phone and fired up the HWA app.
(Jeremy): Bryan Deas…another “veteran” returns huh? What you did to me at Havoc…I’m sure you thought you were making a statement…sending a message and don’t get me wrong you did. Only, it wasn’t the statement or message you thought it was. You told the whole world how desperate you are to be a HWA superstar again. How shallow, and pathetic the last years of your life must have been to jump an innocent guy you’ve never really met so the spotlight could shine on you again. They say don’t meet your heroes and you’re living proof why. I’m embarrassed to say that I was a Bryan Deas fan growing up. You’ve done it all in this business, World Title, All Star Championship…had more runs at belts than anyone I can remember and no matter how many times you took a loss or got knocked down…you got up and went at it again. You were one of the last guys out the door in 2015, I do know that and I respected that. When others had abandoned ship Bryan Deas stayed the course all the way to the end. Where is that guy?
I get it Deas, 8 years is a long time and now you’re jealous, and you’re bitter. You were home watching your savings dwindle then the big HWA announcement comes and you get your Reunion invite. You came and saw some old colleagues but more importantly, you see Matt and I tear the house down. Then you got that itch, didn’t you? The itch that said, I better do something while I still can, maybe I can make a little money. You thought about it, but there you were again, home in your La-Z-Boy, feet kicked up watching the first Havoc of this era and you see my match with Will Ospreay. It inspired you didn’t it? It your broke down ass up, and you popped in that DDP Yoga discs that’s been collecting dust.
Jeremy chuckles with a little smile.
(Jeremy): DDP worked his magic and got those old aches and pains, got those joints moving again, and kinks worked out, didn’t he? But you’re not about to a 450 off the top rope are you Bryan? You’re not about to hit a Moonsault Side Slam, or dart across the ring from pillar to post like Will and me are you? No, you did what Bryan Deas always does when he couldn’t get by or get over. You oiled up that bat of yours and let it do the work for you. Well its my turn to make a statement, and it’s my time to send you a message and I don’t need a baseball bat to do it, just my god given talent. Don’t throw away your DDP Yoga discs just yet Bryan, because I promise you…when I get my hands on you…you’re going to need them now more than ever.
The sizzle of the grill gets his attention as he see’s the onions almost done and puts on the foil packet of mushrooms. He’s got time to address one more thing, and continues.
(Jeremy): Stu-E Price, I’m hesitant to say its going to be an honor to meet you at Havoc. You’ll have to forgive me, but recent events with you veterans hasn’t been playing out so well. I do have a general feeling about you, and I’ll just have to wait to Havoc to confirm it. I will say something in your interview peaked my interest so let me ask you Stu-E…exactly to what degree do you see where Bryan Deas is coming from? I’m not being cheeky, I’m asking you as a man who was in the ring with the guy for years. Where is he coming from, blindsiding me with a baseball bat? Where is William coming from, huh? How stupid was I to think I was getting a bit of respect from him in our match, to see him look at me getting my brains beat in and walk away because it “wasn’t his problem.” Really Stu-E, veteran to a new generation guy…tell me where they are coming from, and why you don’t have a problem with them?
This was exactly what he was trying to prevent. He was getting heated revisiting Havoc in his head.
(Jeremy): All I’ll say is this Stu-E, at Havoc…I really do hope you are who I feel you are. But if you’re just another Bryan Deas, Maniac, or William Draconis waiting for your moment to strike, you’re not going to be so lucky as they’ve been. I will put you to the mat, and you’ll regret you kept the same number and Butch was able to reach out to you for a return. I hope you understand, I’m not being brash, I’m being cautious. I was naïve about William, and oblivious to Bryan…I’m not going to make the same mistake with you. But, if I’m right…nothing would please me more than sitting down with you afterward for one of those beers. First, hell, even the second and third round is on me!
Jeremy posts his video message and returns to the grill, grabbing the burger patties and slapping them on the grill. The flames shoot up and the sizzle intensifies as the scene fades to black.
