Sean is sweat-soaked after his match with Legion. After receiving praise from Butch and several of the backstage crew members, he makes his way to the media section. Along the tables are bottles of water and he duly grabs one, opening it up and taking a long drink. Behind the table, there are advertising board set up behind him with the HWA and CBS logos.
(Sean): (Catching his breath) Whew! Did you see that? Did you witness the intensity, the heart, and the determination that just unfolded in that ring? Legion, you thought you could bring me down, but tonight, I showed you and everyone else what I’m made of! I mean, I knew you’d put up a strong fight. You tossed me about like an empty bag of chips and manhandled me like I was an Action Man. But you ran out of steam like I knew you would and I took advantage. But come on, I’m not even six feet tall. I weigh just over 200lbs. In normal circumstances, I shouldn’t even have the right to think I had a chance against someone like you. Neither you, nor any of your friends or buddies gave me a hope in hell against you. In your eyes, it was a foregone conclusion. But I knew I had more than a chance. So yeah, I feel pretty vindicated right now!
He takes another drink from his water, wiping some of the excess sweat dripping down his face still with the back of his hand.
(Sean): Tonight feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I said before tonight that once I beat Legion, I wouldn’t give him a second thought and I stand by that. If his uncle found remorse then fair enough, good for him but it doesn’t change anything in my head. I’ll move past this and I won’t bear any grudges but I won’t ever forgive. God may forgive but I don’t. Like I said, I’ll move on from this because it doesn’t make any sense to hold on to anger or rage but I won’t ever forgive. If there’s a God, he’ll judge the good reverend when his time is up. Legion, you were the embodiment of my inner demons, my doubts, my fears. But let me make one thing clear - this chapter of my life is now closed. I won’t waste any more breath discussing you. From now on, I’m focused on what’s next.
Sean takes another moment. He squats down, knees bent, his head and shoulders hunched over as he still recovers from the physical exerts from his match. After a moment, he looks up at the camera.
(Sean): All you veterans, Deas, Maniac, Darqsiders, Draconis… you guys seem to think you can just pick up where you left off. Well, let me tell you something, Bryan Deas, Maniac, and the whole lot of you. Jeremy, Matt and I aren’t gonna sit back and allow it to happen, no. We’re done being the examples you want to make to stake your own claims to greatness. Deas, you picked the wrong guy to piss off in Jeremy. He’s gonna make sure you regret what you pulled last week and trust me, you mess with one of us, you mess with all three of us and sooner rather later, you’re gonna find that out. Same goes for you Maniac. You better make sure you know what you’re in for pal, because you don’t know Matt the way we do. You better pray you put away Draconis quick tonight.
Sean takes another moment, a steely resolve on his face.
(Sean): Speaking of veterans, there’s one among them who doesn’t have a stick up his ass, and that’s you, Stu-E.
Sean rises back to a vertical base and paces back and forth before focusing on the camera.
(Sean): We had a match, a few weeks ago but it didn’t get the ending it deserved. So, how about we run that back, Stu-E? Let’s give the fans the showdown they deserve, and let’s settle this once and for all. You’ve been on quite the hot streak yourself and you seem like a genuinely stand-up guy and I know you didn’t want to beat me the way you did. So, like I said, let’s run it back! Next week at Havoc or whenever my uncle and aunt decide. Tonight I wanted to send a statement, it doesn’t matter how big you are, it’s about what’s in here…
Sean taps a fingertip to his temple.
(Sean): …and in here…
He then taps a fingertip to his chest over his heart before taking another drink from his bottle and pours the remainder of its contents over his head. He shakes his head and runs his hands through his soaked hair.
(Sean): Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go check on my girlfriend!
Sean walks out of the camera shot and the scene fades to black.
