Alexis: I can’t believe we just did that.
Brooke: I know, me either, but it was good, right?
Alexis: It definitely was, but what are we doing, Brooke?
Brooke: Oh, I know what I’m doing.
Brooke leans in and begins to kiss Alexis’s neck. Her breathing gets heavier but she forces Brooke back gently.
Alexis: I’m serious, Brooke. Look, this was amazing and I’ve missed you so much, but what are we doing? I mean we broke up because we were hardly seeing each other because of your work. Now, I’m out here in LA and suddenly you’re at my door, looking like…
Brooke: Looking like what?
Alexis: Looking like you! It means the world that you just decided to hop on a plane to see if I’m ok and I’ve missed this, but I can’t keep having these flings every now and then and then missing the crap out of you the minute you leave. You were the one that wanted to break up and I don’t want to have my heart broken again. I’m finally making good progress at work and I have a really important match coming up and the last thing I need is hurting over you when I’m trying to focus on my match next week.
Brooke paused for a moment, her expression shifting from desire to contemplation. She reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair away from Alexis's face.
Brooke: I understand, Lex. I really do. I didn't expect to feel this way when I saw you again. I thought I had moved on, but being here with you, it's like everything comes rushing back. But I don't want to hold you back or hinder your progress. You deserve to focus on your match and your career.
Alexis looked at Brooke, her eyes filled with a mix of longing and determination. She took a deep breath and spoke earnestly.
Alexis: Brooke, if we're going to do this, it can't be halfway. I can't handle the uncertainty. If we're going to be together, it has to be fully committed. You know I love you but I have my career to think about as well. I need more stability in my life and since Dean died and we broke up, I’ve not had that, the only consistency I’ve had is wrestling. No more on-and-off, no more breaking my heart. Are you willing to give us a real chance?
Brooke's gaze met Alexis's, she nodded slowly and smiled, lifting a hand to stroke her cheek.
Brooke: Yes, Lex. I am. I want to make it work this time, for both of us. I don't want to lose you again. I love you.
Alexis could feel tears welling up in her eyes but still managed to smile. She leaned in and kissed Brooke passionately, melting as their tongues intertwined. Brooke allowed her hand to disappear under the bed covers and a moment later, Alexis’s eyes widened in pleasure. The intensity grew with each passing moment until, with a sharp inhale, she shattered into a thousand pieces, her body shaking with the force of her release. Breathless and glistening with sweat, Alexis collapsed back onto the pillows, her heart racing. Brooke leaned in and kissed her tenderly, their bodies entwined as they basked in the afterglow of their love.
As they lay there, Alexis knew that this was only the beginning of a journey that would take them to places they never dreamed possible. And with Brooke back by her side, she was ready for anything.
Several hours later
Brooke had gone out to the supermarket. She wanted to make Alexis dinner so taking advantage to catch up and she’d seen that Erica had responded to her. After watching and listening to her, Alexis quickly set up her phone to the HWA App and turned her phone into camera mode, front-facing.
Alexis: Erica, I know that I might seem disingenuous, that I’m not the same person I even was a month ago when I sauntered into the HWA Academy and made a statement over what I did to Michelle, but you of all people should know all about having a sudden drastic change of heart. I mean cast your mind back to that day at the Academy, you were thoroughly on Team Sensei if you will, weren’t you? You were pulling on my arm, begging me to let go of that chokehold, defending Michelle’s honor along with Sarah. Not an hour later and you were smiling and smirking as Sean Parker flirted with Michelle and you were begging her to give you the gory details of what he said to her like some dewey-eyed school girl. You’re nothing but a hypocrite, Erica, a self-righteous hypocrite. Look at you now, fawning over that creep with “Oh, Maestro, I’m so eager to learn” and “Oh, Maestro, teach me!” At least Red Dragon earned his title among those that train under him, for that he has my respect. But Maniac? He’s not worth two shits off the bottom of anyone’s shoe and the only people who can’t see it are you and that pathetic reporter girl who follows him around like a lost puppy.
Alexis stopped for a moment, composing herself before she went on.
Alexis: So, you can spew your venomous words and threats all you want. I’ve had enough of your delusional bravado. You claim to wear your so-called ‘truth’ on your sleeve, but all I see is a desperate attempt to mask your own insecurities and failures. You’re nothing more than a bitter wannabe trying to stir up chaos and I will not stand idly by as you try to disrupt the path I’ve carved for myself so far in HWA. You may think you’re jumping the queue, but l’m going to send you all the way to the back. So, keep running your mouth, Erica, because when we step into that ring, I’ll make sure you eat every single one of your words. Get ready to be humbled because I’m coming for you!
Alexis finished the recording and sent the recorded clip to the HWA App. With perfect timing, she heard the front door opening along with a familiar voice.
Brooke: It’s just me!
Brooke walked into the kitchen, her arms filled with bags full of groceries and a big smile on her face. Alexis instantly cheered up and walked over, giving Brooke a kiss and helping her with the bags as the scene faded to black.
