She had just gotten out of the shower, wrapping her hair up in a towel and grimaces slightly as she reaches up with her shoulder after the Kimura Lock administered by Briar Blackthorne earlier in the night. She sits down on the Queen-sized bed in the hotel room and checks her phone. She’d messaged Sean earlier after what had happened with Fallen. It made her sick to her stomach after finding out what had transpired in Stu-E Price’s locker room. Although she hadn’t enjoyed the best relationship with Michelle and the other boys in HWA since she joined HWA, after what had transpired in Chicago when Maniac put his hands on Sarah Callahan, she’d put those differences aside. Any time a man overstepped the line and put his hands on a woman inappropriately, it made her blood boil. She was glad Butch had fired that disgusting human being. Suddenly, her phone starts to ring and she sees Brooke’s name appear on the screen. A smile spreads across her face. She needed to hear a friendly voice after the night she’d had. She answers.
Alexis: Hey, babe! It's good to hear your voice.
Brooke: Hey, Lex! How are you feeling? I heard you had a tough match tonight. Are you okay?
Alexis: Yeah, it was a rough one. I'm a bit banged up, but I'll be fine. It wasn't just the match that got to me, though.
Brooke: I seen what happened with that poor girl, Michelle. Surely there’ll be legal ramifications for that?
Alexis: I have no idea but I feel physically sick after that. I mean I know I gave her some stick for her goody-two-shoes attitude but Brooke, she literally wouldn’t hurt a fly. She’s the most sickeningly sweet girl you’d probably ever meet and that sick bastard violated her like she was nothing.
Alexis starts to tear up as she recounts what happened.
Brooke: Hey, hey, babe! It’s ok! As long as she knows you’re there, as a woman, you can’t do anything else. I wish I was there to give you a hug.
Alexis: I’ll be back in LA tomorrow, I can’t wait to see you.
Brooke: I’m sensing something else is bothering you, babe?
Alexis: You know me too well. Those goddamn bitches that blindsided me after my match with Erica. They attacked Sarah and then hit me from behind.
Brooke: I seen, they’re just a couple of upstarts wanting to make a name for themselves.
Alexis: Yeah, well I’ll be damned if they’ll do it at my expense.
Brooke: You're strong, both in and out of the ring. Just remember, I'm here for you, no matter what happens.
Alexis: Thanks, babe. Your support means the world to me. I’m just glad to have you back in my life.
Brooke: Always, Lex. You've got this. Take care of yourself and know that I'm cheering you on, no matter what challenges come your way.
Alexis: Thanks, Brooke. I love you.
Brooke: I love you too, Lex. Stay strong, and I'll be waiting for you when you're back home.
Alexis smiles as she ends the call. She always felt better after speaking with Brooke. Over the course of the next fifteen minutes, Alexis gets dressed. She pours herself a coffee as she sits down on a sofa and leans back. She dials a number on her phone after taking a sip from her cup. There’s no answer so she leaves a voicemail.
Alexis: Hey Jeremy, it’s Lexi. Look, I know you and I haven’t had any real extended interactions and hell I don’t know if you even like or trust after what happened with Sarah and Michelle before when I first arrived. But I want you to know, I’m here for you. What Erica did At Havoc was downright despicable. No one deserves to be outed against their wish. That was your story to tell when and if you wanted to tell it. But I know what it’s like. I had no desire for my personal life and my love life to become common knowledge but it happened and now everyone knows I’m bisexual. Thankfully no one has batted an eyelid so far but my advice, if you’ll permit me to give it is to not let what Erica has done define you. Embrace who you are and as a great TV man once said, every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place. So keep that in mind, Jeremy, and if you want to talk, I’m here.
She hangs up and sits there a while, drinking her coffee and thinking about getting home to Brooke. Her mind then casts back to Havoc and she feels herself getting annoyed again. She decides to bring her phone up and navigates to the HWA app and speaks directly into her camera.
Alexis: You know, Erica, congratulations! You kicked off your TV debut with a win at my expense. But let’s not pretend you proved you’re the better woman. I had you dead to rights and you had to resort to underhanded tactics to turn the tide in your favor, didn’t you? I mean, I’m angry at myself for even allowing it to happen because I know I’m better than that. Yeah, you hit hard and you took me further than I’ve ever been in my career as a pro wrestler but girl, don’t let one win go to your head. I’ll admit, losing isn’t something I’m accustomed to but I guarantee you, it ain’t something I plan on getting used to. And what you pulled on Vanessa? I guess I was right about everything I said about you last week… you’re a coward! Vanessa was right in everything she said about you. Well, tell you what, let’s dance again, you cowardly snake and let’s see if try and pull that fireball shit with me. Let’s have it, you…me at Art of War….Last….Woman….Standing!
Alexis stops for a moment, composing herself before continuing.
Alexis: Speaking of cowards….Briar and Lilliana….I suppose I should say welcome to HWA, but truth be told, I’m barely in the door myself, getting my feet under the table. On one hand, it’s fantastic to see the women’s division beefed up a bit, especially as Luna Rain from the Draconis family has joined the Academy too…. But on the other hand, you two ladies made a graaaaave mistake trying to make a statement at my expense! I get it, you wanna arrive with a bang, put the division on notice and all that jazz. But the Black Rose is the last woman you want to use as the benchmark for what you want to achieve here. I let my emotions get the better of me after my match with Erica and went in all guns blazing and walked right into your trap but trust me, you won’t get away that again. As the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you… fool me twice….well that simply won’t happen. So if you wanna show up to Havoc, I’ll make it easy to find me because I’ll be in the ring!
Alexis ends the feed and puts her phone away, sipping her coffee again and trying to relax but she can’t. She thinks of getting home to Brooke, of what happened to Jeremy, to Sean and poor Michelle, to Sarah, and of Erica and the Blackthorne twins and her desire for revenge. Her mind races and she exhales deeply as the scene fades to black.
