Exiting the Amway Center, dressed in their street clothes, are Alexis Rose and Sarah Callahan bags rolling behind them and purses slung over their respective shoulders. Alexis is wearing a pair of jeans and a cold-shoulder t-shirt, covered by a leather jacket. Sarah is wearing a pair of white and a knot-crop t-shirt and a denim jacket.
Alexis looks despondent after the loss to Briar and Lilianna earlier in the night. Although she managed to pop her dislocated shoulder back into place during the match, now that the adrenaline had worn off, she was in a lot of pain.
Alexis: Ugh, I’m so pissed!
Sarah: Girl, I know, we nearly had them! I’m sorry I couldn’t get back in the ring to stop it.
Alexis shakes her head, waving off Sarah’s apology.
Alexis: It’s not your fault. I took my eye off the ball. I went for that Dragon suplex thinking it would put her away, I should have been more assertive and went for something bigger.
Sarah: I know it’s eatin’ atchu but, on the bright side, we just went out and got Match of the frickin’ Night! I’m pissed too, believe me! I wanted so much to beat those b*tiches! But do you realize what we just did for women’s wrestling tonight?
Alexis begrudgingly nods her head.
Alexis: I know, I know…it’s just… I’ve never lost by submission before… I said before how much I wanted to get back at Briar for that horrible shit she said before the PPV and it blew up in my face…
Sarah has an incredulous look on her face as she shifts her purse to her other shoulder.
Sarah: Are you kidding me right now, Lex? You didn’t even tap out! She had to hold that move on you like her life depended on it. You have the respect of the entire wrestling community after what we did out there tonight! And look…
Sarah pulls her cellphone out, thumbs through Twitter and shows her the screen to Alexis.
Sarah: Look!
Alexis: What am I looking at?
Sarah smirks, rolling her eyes and zooms in with her thumb and forefinger. A thread of different tweets from different female wrestlers such as WWE Hall of Famers, Lita and Trish Stratus, HWA Hall of Famers ICE and Blush with an article also showing that renowned pro wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer, has given their match a five star rating.
Sarah: We’re only the third all-women's match to get five stars or more!
Alexis frowns, furrowing her brow as she continues to favor her shoulder as the two walk down West Church Street engaged in their conversation.
Alexis: You seriously don’t buy into those ratings, do you? He hasn’t even given Kurt Angle a five star match for Pete’s sake!
Sarah wryly smiles as she rolls her eyes along with a shake of her head.
Sarah: It’s not that, Lexi, girl, come on! Do you know what this does for women’s wrestling? We’re the only American female wrestlers to get a rating of that magnitude. In the eyes of the wrestling community, we just put on the joint-second greatest women’s wrestling match of all time. I know the outcome wasn’t what you wanted, but we still won tonight. And you’ve probably gone viral popping your shoulder the way you did!
Alexis half-smiles but even just mentioning her shoulder makes her involuntarily flinch. It annoyed her that she allowed Briar and Lilianna to do so much damage to her arm and shoulder. She was the one that was always so meticulous in the ring. She hadn’t underestimated the Blackthornes but it still stuck in her craw regarding the nature of how she and Sarah had lost.
Alexis: Fine, I guess it’s pretty cool.
Sarah: See? That’s what I’m talking about! We’ll get them back, Lex, I promise.
A notification pings on both their cellphones that draws both of their attention. Both of them nod approvingly.
Sarah: See, we’ve got our chance already and with Michelle! And you finally get to get your hands back on Erica! This is great, Lexi!
Alexis eventually gives in and properly smiles.
Alexis: Ok, ok, I’m a bit pumped now.
Sarah smirks.
Sarah: There we go, you’re feeling it. Come on, let’s get these bags dropped off at the hotel and go out for some dinner. I need to message Michelle and Jeremy, find out how Sean and Matt are doing.
Alexis: I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. Both matches. Did you see that shooting star press Sean did from the cage? Fifty bucks says his knees are shot to absolute shit. Michelle’s gotta be going out of her mind.
Sarah: Girl, don’t even joke. I’ve seen Sean and Matt both do crazy shit before all this craziness was even a thought but tonight was just straight-up insane!
Alexis: Hopefully that’s the last of that craziness for a while.
As the two keep walking, Alexis stops.
Alexis: By the way, Sarah?
Sarah turns her head, seeing Alexis has stopped walking and goes back.
Sarah: What’s up?
Alexis: I wanted to thank you.
Sarah: For what?
Alexis: Letting us put what happened before behind us. I know I came in like I was the Queen of Sheba and I rubbed you and Michelle the wrong way… I-
Sarah smirks and holds her hand up, cutting Alexis off.
Sarah: It’s all good, girl. I gotchu. You showed me out there tonight I can more than trust you, we got this. At Havoc you, me…
Sarah wags her forefinger back and forth between her and Alexis.
Sarah: ... And Michelle? We got this!
Sarah holds out her fist towards Alexis who smirks and bumps it and the two continue walking.
Alexis: She’s tougher than she looks, Michelle. Did you see that match with Erica?
Sarah: I keep tellin’ ya, don’t sleep on my girl Michelle, she may look all dainty and sweet - and she is - but girl whoo-ee! She’s got some fight in her. Anyway, I don’t know about you but I..am…starving!
Alexis: Me too…I heard there’s a good burger joint near here, Hamburger Mary’s… Brooke is always going on about it.
Sarah: She from Orlando?
Alexis: Nah, but she’s always here with her sister for Disney World and for the Magic games and she’s always talking about this amazing burger place that’s near the arena.
Sarah nods approvingly.
Sarah: Sold. Let’s go get us some burgers!
The two keep walking, chatting idly to each other as they make their way to Hamburger Mary’s as the scene fades to black.
