“What have you got to say about your upcoming match?” she asks, Stu-E takes a moment to think of what to say. The view is close into his face and broad shoulders so it’s difficult to really pick up where they are, but there’s no background noise so they’re not in the public eye somewhere.
“I don’t have too much to say to be brutally honest, Laney. There’s 3 other guys in the ring, a lot of different scenarios can play out so it’s just gotta be one of those things where you just see what happens. I’m not putting a lot of value on the match this time, rather save myself for this Ringmaster tournament so it’s going to be a night of self-preservation.”
“But… Daddy, do you not want to win?”
Price smiles, “Of course I want to win, but sometimes in life that’s not the be all and end all. Sometimes you have to be smarter, what use would winning be if I go out and injure myself and weaken my chances at the Ringmaster?”
“Like Sean?”
Stu-E glances up at the mention of his name, “Kind of, Laney. Your Dad has to accept that he’s a bit older these days and he’s had a hell of a run but an injury to me is different than an injury to someone like Sean. He’ll probably end up winning the thing still, whereas if I had his injuries, I’d be a retired and doing podcasts with that Conrad fella.”
With a laugh, Laney says “And then I could be the big wrestler in the family?” which just makes her Dad laugh, before sidestepping the question, “Any more questions before we send this to the HWA website?”
“Um, what about you upcoming opponents?”
He shrugs his shoulders, “Jeremy has made himself clear, seems like he doesn’t get my humour sometimes but he was very honourable in his praise, fair play to him. I don’t have a problem, hopefully he can still see me in a good light after the match, but this business is a funny one.
Legion is another one out of the three that I’ve defeated, he knows exactly what I’m about and I know him. Whatever issue I had with him, doesn’t feel important any more though so again, I don’t imagine it being a war between us.
And then there’s Draconis, personally if I don’t win this match, I’d hedge my bets on him to collect the big W. I’ll be using this match to really, just try and learn some more about him, ready for Ringmaster.
Hopefully the match is a good one for the fans, it’ll be much more entertaining than this promo, I know that much!”
Laney laughs off camera, “Yeah, why aren’t you making jokes, Daddy?”
He looks up, directly in to the camera and smirks.
“Sometimes your Dad just enjoys being a little different… some… times”
The look almost looks like a glare, as Laney stops recording.
