At the centre of it all stood the iconic Mania desk, a towering monolith of steel and neon that served as the focal point of the set. Adorned with the unmistakable HWA logo and bathed in the warm glow of the studio lights, it was a beacon of excitement and anticipation, drawing viewers from across the globe into its electrifying embrace.
Surrounding the desk were rows of plush stadium seats, each one emblazoned with the HWA logo and arranged in perfect symmetry to accommodate the throngs of eager fans who tuned in week after week. The air crackled with anticipation as the audience waited with bated breath for the latest news and updates from the world of professional wrestling, their excitement palpable in every cheer and every chant.
Behind the desk, a massive video screen loomed large, its vibrant display showcasing highlights from past matches and tantalizing glimpses of what was yet to come. From bone-crushing slams to heart-stopping near falls, the screen was a window into the action-packed world of the HWA, capturing the imagination of viewers and leaving them on the edge of their seats in anticipation of what would unfold next.
And presiding over it all was Todd Pettengill, the irrepressible host whose boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm were as much a part of the Mania set as the iconic desk itself. With his trademark wit and charm, Todd welcomed viewers into the fold, guiding them on a journey through the highs and lows of professional wrestling with a flair and panache that was uniquely his own.
Together, the Mania set and its larger-than-life host formed the beating heart of the HWA universe, a beacon of excitement and entertainment that captivated audiences week after week and left an indelible mark on the world of sports entertainment for generations to come.
“Ladies and gentleman, my guest this week is the man known as ‘England’s Favourite Wrestler’, whose British Pound, Price Tag and Stun Cutter have brought him Championships all over the World, he is the one and only, Stu-E Price!”
Todd's voice echoed off the walls, reverberating through the airwaves and igniting a chorus of cheers from the eager crowd. "And folks, have I got a treat for you today—a true legend in the world of professional wrestling, a man whose name is synonymous with greatness. Please join me in welcoming the one, the only, Stu-E Price!"
As Todd's words rang out, the studio erupted into a cacophony of applause and cheers, the excitement reaching a fever pitch as the spotlight turned to the man of the hour. And there, standing tall and proud in the glow of the studio lights, was Stu-E Price—a titan of the squared circle, his presence commanding attention and respect in equal measure.
With a grin as wide as Todd's own, Stu-E stepped forward to greet the audience, his eyes sparkling with a mixture of humility and pride. He soaked in the adulation of the crowd, a testament to the impact he had made on the world of professional wrestling throughout his storied career.
"Thank you, thank you," Stu-E exclaimed, his voice booming with warmth and gratitude. "It's an honour to be here, Todd. Let's make some magic happen!"
Todd leaned forward, his eyes alight with curiosity as he turned his attention to Price, the legendary wrestler whose larger-than-life persona filled the studio with an air of excitement and anticipation.
"So, Stu-E," Todd began, his voice brimming with enthusiasm, "let's talk about your upcoming match. What can you tell us about your opponent?"
Stu-E's lips curled into a wry grin as he considered Todd's question, his eyes twinkling with mischief as he prepared to unleash his trademark wit upon the unsuspecting audience.
"Well, Todd," Stu-E replied with a chuckle, "let's just say he looks like the kid who gets invited to the Prom as a joke, in those comedy movies!"
As Stu-E's words hung in the air, the studio erupted into laughter, the audience delighting in his razor-sharp humour and quick wit. Todd couldn't help but join in the merriment, his laughter mingling with that of the crowd as he marvelled at Stu-E's ability to entertain both in and out of the ring.
“He’s the sort of guy whose recent call list reads Mom, 12 minutes. Mom, 2 hours, 9 minutes. Mom, 34 seconds. Mom 8 minutes, 7 seconds…”
As Stu-E continues, the laughter from the crowd fills the air.
“Daddy?!”
The unmistakable voice of Laney overrides the sound of laughter, which fades away as the scene cuts to Laney standing over her Dad, who has fallen a sleep and had been dreaming. They’re not in the 1990’s WWF Mania set, changed to HWA and thankfully, Todd Pettengill was nowhere to be seen.
“Wake up, you need to go do a promo for Havoc.”
Stu-E lets out a yawn and stretches his arms out to their full extent before opening his eyes. He reaches up and brushes his hair down so he’s halfway presentable and glances up at Laney.
“To be honest, Laney, I don’t really have much to say about him. He seems like a decent guy, and he’s got a lot to deal with. I’m happy to just wrestle him, teach him a few things and be on my way. Not getting involved with Erica, I know that much!”
She smiles at her Dad, deep down she enjoys the Havoc’s when it’s just a flat out wrestling match and she can just watch and not have to think about people attacking her Father.
“Sounds like we’re going to have a good night, Daddy.” She reaches over and places her hand on his shoulder, her Dad just smiles as the scene cuts.
