I recently had this problem, after getting my girl back from her breeder (I had to give her up for a while due to divorce) My girls wounds were BAD, and I took her to the vet straight away. The vet did a culture and found that she had a rare organism that required special antibiotics, topical cremes and a fortune in vet bills. Had I left it untreated (as it had been) there is no telling how much damage would have been done to her system. The bacteria found is known to cause mastitis, tooth and gum disease, joint and muscular problems, ect. And let me tell you, we are STILL having problems. (Though she looks and acts much better now).
We are also looking into allergy test in a few months. I highly recommened you think about doing the same, as well as keep a close eye out for infection, and watch her diet CLOSELY. Keep the food simple, natural, holistic. Feel free to look at the pictures on my photo bucket to see what I am talking about. They are in reverse order... so the "yucky" pictures are at the bottom. I wish my PC hadn't of crashed, cause she is looking even better now, but the pictures are stuck on my camera

and good luck!

: It's been a long time since I've posted on
: here, but I'm having some real problems with
: my AB's feet and need some opinions. She
: has huge blisters between her toes. They
: ooze and bleed and they smell really bad.
: She used to get the same thing on her body
: and I switched her food and they went away
: on her body but stayed on her feet. She's
: constantly licking them and I know it's not
: comfortable for her. She's an inside dog
: and is only out for about 1-2 hours a day,
: so I don't think it's anything outside. Any
: opinions or experience with the issue would
: be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton!
