Tied in with these two would be a desire to obey God due to these two feelings.
I believe that this is a core reason of the lack of fear in the church today-we base relationships on feelings rather than love. See, my feelings change by the nano second. If my relationship with God is based on them i'm in trouble. He doesn't love me like that! He loves unconditional. Love is an action word before it's an emotion. I do first because it needs to be done and after i have done the feeling of value or emotional love comes into play. Do I always have these emotions for my wife? certainly not-shes a sinner man. But Jesus commands me to serve her so i do and the result is shes blessed and i see the smile on her face and then i love her emotionally right until she tells me to do something i don't want to. Then i don't have those warm fuzzy love feelings any more.
Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Here again we see the key being fear. Then we see that learning about God is where we begin to understand.
I interpret this the other way around. If I don't understand God then whats there to fear? I must first understand who He is, then wisdom tells me to be afraid! The key is knowing His identity. Seeing Him as God in all His awsome glory.
Do you feel the breaking of bread mentioned in Acts was communion? Or just another way of having felowship or even something different?
Looking at the Greek it litterally means to break bread, like at a meal. Koinonia is the word for communion which is translated fellowship. Regardless communion is implied.
