Min or minim meaning sectarian not limited to the Nazarenes. Minim in the Talmud referred to anyone other than the Rabbinical Jews of the Post Temple days. They could not allow another Anti-Roman Sect to grow for fear the Romans would exterminate all Jews. The Rabbis felt that standing up to Rome would have doomed all of their race and therefore were willing to compromise. Certain Jews and certain Christians were unwilling to compromise with Rome. It appears that, Pauline Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism were willing to compromise and therefore received support and grew faster. While those who saw Rome as a Pagan power and therefore anti-God especially after they destroyed God's temple eventually vanished.
