So the result that we know for two sets is the observation that m(E1 U E2)= m(E1) + m(E2) given the d(E1,E2)>0. Is that correct?
And the fact that the sets are compact and disjoint removes the possibility of having the two sets having distance = 0? And that is because a compact subset of R^d is closed and bounded?
I just want to make sure I get this one straighten out.
