But you raise a good point about when various championships are won. How many teams there were at the time is also a factor. Changes in post-season play also have an influence.

The Yankees are the most successful in my estimation because of their multiple championships in different eras.

Having said that, I believe their championships in the free agent era of the last 30+ years are largely attributable to their ability to outspend any other franchise and still make money doing so. They are there to show us what can be accomplished with virtually unlimited resources. As if we didn't know.

I neither hate, nor like the Yankees. I consider them a sideshow.
