Speaking of American football, I'm of course partial to the San Francisco 49ers during the 80s and 90s. 5 Super Bowls, 5 wins. Always in the hunt during that time. What I like most is that the owner, Eddie Debartolo, was willing to spend whatever it took to win. In that respect, you might be tempted to compare him to Steinbrenner. The difference is, Eddie spent more than the team ever brought in. Yep, he was willing to lose money in order to win Super Bowls. I seriously doubt Steinbrenner would ever have done that.
