When the Giants new ballpark opened in 2000, there was a spring training game there against the Yankees right before the season began. I was sitting next to a few of young guys who had come out from NYC, Yankee fans. We were bantering back and forth, ragging each other. One of them said to me, "Being a Yankee fan is about baseball in October. You wouldn't understand." I immediately shot back, "I think I do understand. Is it anything like football in January?" He and his friends quickly gave me props and said, "Good comeback, dude!"
