Butias seem to grow slower than other cold hardy palms, but with the pinnate foliage, this palm really adds a tropical feel. It seems to be expanding its trunk before growing upwards.
It is my fiance's favorite palm--she calls it Jelly! 
But, no jelly from this palm just yet!
