The snowfall has now ended in the Little Rock area. Sleet began last night around 11 pm and then changed over to snow which continued for a few hours. There was then a break in the precipitation. Snow started again very early this morning and continued through the evening hours. Some of the snow was moderate at times. I usually get a little more snow at my house compared to the surrounding area because I live in a slightly higher elevation. I recorded 3.75 inches. The forecasters were predicting 4-9 inches for Little Rock yesterday, but a dry slot moved in and shut off the snow for several hours overnight. The map below shows the two snowfall events from yesterday through today.
The big winners were in north central Arkansas. Fox, AR reported 18+ inches of snowfall--totally unheard of for March! Officially, the local NWS got 2.5 inches.
Now, for the snow pictures!
If you're wondering..yes, I built the snowman. I couldn't resist!!! It's not everyday you have an opportunity to make a nice snowman in the south !
