I haven't had much time to post on the board lately, but here is a garden update from the Little Rock area. With regular rainfall and warm temps near 90 each day, the garden is really growing quickly. The lows for the last few years at my residence have been 14F in 2005 and 2006, 15F in 2007, and 16F in 2008. S. Louisiana 'OKC' blooming for the first time.
Butia capitata. No winter protection.
Yucca rostrata. New addition this year.
My largest T. fortunei. Sent out 4 flower stalks this year. No male to pollinate it.
T. Princeps. Seeds germinated 3/2007.
Musa Velutina from Randy. Thanks again, buddy!
Veinte Cohol Banana
Musa Basjoo. 4th year.
W. Robusta. Started as a 3 gallon plant in 2004. The trunk is 6 feet now. I cut off all the fronds last year so these are all new ones so far. This plant was covered with a tarp for the winter with no heat.
