Yucca rostrata is, in my opinion, the best trunking yucca for colder, wetter zones. The key is well drained soil here in the southeast. Yes, they are rather expensive but given their nice trunking form, easy of care, beautiful blue color, nice leaves, and palm-like foliage, wouldn't you say this plant is a winner? Here is a picture of my yucca rostratas that I purchased late last fall from Ryan Fuller at Collector Palms. He has quite a few on Ebay. They are excellent plants and well worth the cost. Mine have over one foot of trunk and have grown nicely so far this year.
