It's been a while since I've posted pictures so here are some for you to enjoy. No freeze yet here in Little Rock so the growing season continues.
Let's start with some bananas...
Musa Basjoo Grove
I was rewarded with two flowers from my musa basjoos this year. The only winter protection was oak leaves.
The Meyer lemons are just about ripe.
My butia capitata has really put on some trunk girth this year, and it's ready to bloom (maybe next spring?).
The second year in the ground for some of my trachycarpus wagnerianus.
My T. fortunei have really taken off now. They put on 1.5 to 2 feet of trunk just this year!
My musa velutina bloomed for the first time this year. It not only bloomed once, but I got over 6 blooms from this grove!
No flowers on my musella lasiocarpa, but who can complain since I was rewarded with this last year?
Last year...
A little frost damage, but no freeze here in Little Rock yet. Are these going to flower in 2009?
Some yucca rostratas. They will experience their first winter coming up.
The Washingtonia Robusta is thriving in Little Rock's climate. It's not surprising since the tree is faced south and next to a taupe colored cinder block wall!
These are some trachycarpus fortunei that I grew from Banana Joe's seed.
