Here we go for a small 15 gallon windmill planted late June 06. Tree was bought for 150 bucks, WOW! expensive at first but worth the money in the long run. The palm grew pretty good the first year, this is a picture from Oct.
These are picture's from mid Dec. first winter no heat source.
First year boat shrink wrap with no heat. First year mistake 5 degree cold but over heated in spring. After being uncovered from freezing/toasting this is what it looked like.
I then give it some serious 20-20-20 miracle grow for 8 weeks or so. This is what I came up with by the end of the year late Oct. This was a hot summer!
Colder than normal winter, with c9 lights wrapped around trunk. Tree saw 13 degrees inside hut on coldest day. Palm hut opened during 3.6 degree cold on windiest day of the year. That may sound like a zone 7 temp but NE is no Oklahoma. Here's what it looked like after winter, very happy with seeds.
This is the Palm now with two shots of fertilizer one a month ago and one carl pool shot one week ago. I know you always think your palms are the best but this one has grown 10 full leaves since being uncovered. Here it is now with the coolest summer weather we have ever had.
I'm almost scared to give it more fertilizer but not really
I want to provide heat only when under 15 degrees this year since he has new friends this year. Hardy northern seeds would be good! Here's the latest pictures.
Thanks,
Bill
