Those are some great pictures of the Dallas Arboretum.I only live about 2 hours from it....but I never seem to manage to get there. I noticed that the trunks on the Trachycarpus fortuneis at the arboretum looked AWFULLY skinny. What do you think causes that....the heat?Also I just wondered if you've seen many loquats in Little rock or many pineapple guavas?I have a couple of fairly large specimens of them.The Guava produces fruit every year,...and is never injured by temperatures in the single digits....the same goes for the loquat.Also I dont know if you'd consider spanish moss to be a "subtropical",so maybe this is "off topic",but I've noted spanish moss occurs naturally here in S.E Oklahoma in some of the counties bordering the Red River. So I know it must grow in Arkansas too. I just wondered if you knew how far north in arkansas it Grows?I figured if anybody knew it would probably be you. Sorry for such a long post....but I was just wondering.
