Hi Austin thank you for uploading the picture of your Musa Velutina fruits. They really are VERY pink aren't they? I think I may order some M. velutina seeds from "The Banana Tree" catalog online while we still have 2 or 3 months of warm weather left for germination. The banana tree seems to have quite a few types of banana seeds, palms, and subtropical seeds for sale at quite reasonable prices. But then I'm sure your familiar with that company. I wonder what your Bananas would taste like? The catalog describes them as being "laden with pea size seeds".I guess you could pass them through a strainer and make banana pudding etc.... In your "June pictures from Little Rock", I noticed some Cacti growing in a terracotta pot sitting in front of your Yucca Rostratas, are they a species of Echinocereus cactus? Also in your photo labeled " Fern row", I wondered if the ferns in the background, closest to the steps are a type of evergreen holly fern (Cyrtomium sp.)? Do you see many Gardenias and Camellias growing in the Little Rock area? I've had a gardenia growing in my yard for the past 3 years. I haven't protected it and it flowers every year .But then it hasn't dropped below 10 degrees in the past few winters. I'm not sure what kind it is. Its a very fragrant double flowered type that I bought at a local nursery. It was simply labeled "Hardy Gardenia." I imagine Gardenias must be fairly common in your area? I had a Camellia for a couple of years but it disappeared when it was swallowed up by a fast growing Bamboo grove. I would think Little Rock must be well suited to camellias, especially since so many hardy camellias have been bred during the past several decades.
