Thanks Austin I'm surprised they grew as much as they have too. I hope I don't damage the chance of them flowering next year when I cut them back. I was thinking about cutting them at five feet and loading my 40 stuffed leaf bags all around them and then cover with a black tarp. Do you think that is to high to cut them? I could leave the heat cables on too.
I do have edible bananas too I think they are orinocos but you know how that goes. I will be able to find out though this year because the place I dug them up in Fla will have a flower on them when I'm there in Nov. I don't have a crawl space but my basement stays between 45-55 in winter I think, It's a bit on the damp side and not totally dark I hope they will be ok. Should I let the frost whack them before I bring them in or should I dig them up first? I really want to save the big one out because it will probably flower next year.
Sorry for the million questions I've just never tried it before with storing bananas in the basement. I also have a plantain I think and dwarf cavendish and the zebrina how do you think they will fair in the basement?
Thanks for all the nice words Austin.
Bill
