Nice wags you got in your yard. I much prefer wags over the regular fortunei palm. They are finally available in quantity (from the US) at a local nursery on Vancouver Island so I planted more. I visited the garden from which you ordered your Canadian wag seeds. Want an image? The mature wags look awesome. They are far & few in between so there's a market for them. Many trachys look better in partial shade and wags turn a very dark green. I wonder if Trachys cook in your summers. My problem is a dry summer (dry due to the Olympic Mountains in WA) but for you it must be high temps. I expect your wags to do better than fortunei in hot conditions.
A small (local nursery) sells manipurs. I tested one for two winters in a row. It did well so I got another. Few locals have princeps but they seem hardy like fortunei. Have you tested these in your area?
I found out for myself last winter that Jubaea is almost as hardy as T. fortunei. They are also available here in 15 gal sizes. This is what we need in the PNW... more featherleaf palms.
Yucca aloifolia is not common here like the droopy Y. recurvifolia but looks much better. Yucca gloriosa superba is probably the best yucca in these parts but is rare.
Cheers
