Another option that would work well is cardboard boxes. Stunt performers have been using cardboard boxes for many years to do high falls, and it can be a nice, soft landing. I did it into the 20 foot box van on Stuntmasters at 55 mph, and on Guinness World Records: Primetime at 60 mph. Cardboard boxes would be cheaper and faster to set up and tear down. I used to buy them by the gross.
