The picture of the Arc is taken from the Northeast. The roof of the Arc runs in a North-South direction.

: If he's going west to jump up and east to jump
: back down, to get a picture of what that
: might look like, how is the picture of the
: Arc that you posted oriented? (what
: directions are north, south, east, and west
: on the picture?)

: Okay, here's the setup. On the roof, a
: platform will be as high as the wall, so he
: doesn't have to clear the wall and then drop
: down to a lower level.
:
: He is landing on the platform. No boxes or
: foam.
:
: He's going West to jump up to the top, and
: East to jump back down.
:
: In case he comes up short, which is the
: primary danger factor, boxes will be there
: to catch him between the launch ramp and the
: Arc de Triomphe.
:
: He's ready to go. I think he's fully
: prepared. His practice setup was perfect for
: the job. In fact, that practice setup will
: be a topic of conversation for years. That's
: the way to do it. Excellent work by all
: involved. Red Bull really stepped up to help
: Maddo make this happen. I hope that other
: sponsors, like Monster Energy, continue
: their excellent record of the past, to
: continue to step up their efforts to help
: jumpers reach exciting new heights and
: distances! Look at how thrilling it is.
: Jumping is the best! People get extremely
: stimulated watching this kind of thing! When
: they see a company logo during such extreme
: excitement, they remember it!
