WEDNESDAY, 4-23-08 UPDATE: Besides the email from VIcki BEllaire below I saw Tom this evening and he feels for the first time since Lillie went to the hospital Thursday that progress is being made. PRAISE THE LORD!
Jerry and I went to see Lillie today. When we got there she had just woke up from a nap. She had a HUGE smile and was very happy to see us. We got to meet the nurses that were caring for Lillie today and they updated us as to she had been taken off the blood pressure medication and her blood pressure was holding on it own! Her kidneys are still not working properly and she is still on dialysis. However, they are seeing small improvements with her kidneys which is great! They have put her on blood thinners to help her heart. Her heart rate at this time is still irregular. Jerry and I met with the surgeon and three other doctors today. They say that to them her leg is looking better although they can not say she is completely out of the woods at this time. I did see her leg when they removed the bandage to look at it and I can tell you that her leg looks A LOT better compared to when she was at Sturgis Hospital.&! nbsp; All the doctors were speaking very positively of getting her up and moving again, and was talking to us about further treatment doing and after her hospital stay. They want to address the problems she has been having for awhile with her legs and back, as well as her heart and weight. As the doctor say they can not tell us that she is over this, and they have been very honest about the fact that the infection could very well attack again. However, after seeing her today I feel as though we have more hope today then we did yesterday! We called Tom as soon as we found out the GREAT news and Tom's, as well as our hopes have been lifted. I made it a point today to let Lillie know all of us love her and we are all praying for her. She slept for about an hour and a half while we were there. When she did wake up I did get her to drink water. She talked to us a bit and was awake until we had to leave. So w! e are all seeing improvement and hopefully will continue to see this.& nbsp; Tom said he was going to go visit her tomorrow and we are going to try to get up there Friday. I will keep sending updates daily as you know I talk to Tom daily.
All Prayers are greatly appreciated by Tom and Family.
Vickie and Jerry
Below is the Tuesday message:
Here is the latest on Lillie Pearson from Vickie and Jerry Bellaire.
This is as of Tuesday evening and it certainly does not sound good!
Please keep Lillie and the family in your constant prayers!
Tom asked us to e-mail and inform you of the status with Lillie. She has been transferred to Bronson Medical Center in Kalamazoo. They have put her on dialysis because her kidneys have stopped working. They are giving her high dosages of antibotics trying to stop the infection. Tom met with the sergan today and they said that if the infection spreads to a piont that he has marked on her leg then they will have to amputate her leg; which will take care of the infection but they are unsure if her heart and kidneys will pull through. Doctor stated that the next 24 hours will tell the story. If you would like to talk to Tom his is in the shop from 9am-12pm and then he goes to see Lillie and doesn't get home until after 7 pm. They are only allowing immediate family to visit with her and she can only have two people in the room at one time.. However, I will get the phone number from Tom if you would like. I kno! w she is in room E435, but she doesn't stay conscious very long at one time due to all the medication she is on. I will be sure to e-mail you again when I find out any new information. I talk to Tom everyday and one of us goes over and checks on Tom everyday. Talk to you later. Jerry and Vickie
