With over 90% of the UK's CCTV sytems not compliant with the Data Protection Act according to Camerawatch (www.camerawatch.org.uk) there is a major issue with the use of CCTV.
If CCTV is agreed to be iinstalled, please make sure that it will comply in full with Data Protection. This will then alleviate most of the concenrns of the public with regard to privacy and human rights - and it will also protect the people who operate the systems in making sure that standards are followed.
CCTV can be averty valuable tool - but it must be used correctly and within the law.
