It seems that OUSU did not represent the views of the students. Many students were not in favour but the president of the Union at the time of the pro-cctv "campaign" was allegedly a Labour man and so towed the party line to stay in with local MP Andrew "look how I help the community by installing surveillance cameras" Smith. The problem is that those students against just didn't speak out enough.
