I really must take issue with what you say, I was a juror once on a case at Oxford Crown Court involving the use of CCTV, and it actually helped in the end to clear the accused who was actually wrongly accused. The accused was found innocent as a result.
Cameras are actually pretty well next to useless as 95% of CCTV systems are illegal and breaking the law according to the Register website, footage to grainy to be any use and systems do not comply with the rules of Data Protection Act and privacy laws.
