I fully agree with the article. 13 years in the industry has given me insight into the exact uses of CCTV systems. Most systems are reactive. This means that the images are stored and eventually written over without being viewed. They are only viewed if an incident has occured and then the images are replayed. There is so much paranoia with CCTV and it just is so unwarranted.
Town centres and airports etc have proactive systems for obvious reasons and I for one am really glad about it. I have nothing to hide so I have nothing to fear.. FACT.
And by the way "no-cctv", are you not a little hypocritical having advertising on your message board for companies like ADT offering CCTV?
