IFSEC is an industry show that is used as a platform to launch new technologies or to promote existing equipment. It is very similar to shows such as BETT or even the ideal home exhibition as to the way it is formatted.
The show is usually sponsored by one of the big security distributors. Hence, anyone wanting to exhibit, pays for a "pitch". The idea being that the money spent is re-couperated in future sales.
Security is a growth industry, the same as any other. Tens of thousands of people earn a living from it, and have their own views on CCTV / Access Control. The difference being, they have 1st hand experience on how it works and why.
