Are you saying you have none of these? Out of the goodness of my heart, please let me at least buy you a smoke alarm because as much as you like gathering "on the ground intelligence" with your neighbours, they wnot be able to do much about a fire. Perhaps you could get a camera installed in your house? The neighbours would then be able to see if there is a problem. On the ground intelligence gathering... Problem solved. (said tongue in cheek of course)
