Initially, I did not like the bins in the trash rooms - they seemed crowded, cluttered, and messy. (Actually, they still are crowded, cluttered, and messy...) After all, as another resident said to me, we're "trained" to recycle downstairs. But after speaking with David R. about this, I learned that this is a work in progress, with the intent of capturing those items for recycling that are currently just being pitched down the garbage chutes. I will continue to take the majority of my recycling downstairs, but if an effective, clean system can be implemented to increase our building's recycling rate, I'll support it.
