Posted by Franklin County Speedway on October 8, 2007, 2:36 pm The Pro-Line Trailer Sales Late Model Stock Cars headlined the action on this night. The 150-lap race was the longest scheduled for the season. The $3,000-to-win was also the best payday for the LMSC drivers in 2007. Multi-time Franklin County Speedway Chad Harris of Stuarts Draft, VA won the pole position in qualifying. Harris turned a 13.855 second lap to take the Harbour Racing Products Pole Award. He was flanked on the outside by Jimmy Mullins with Anthony Barnes, Derek Kiser and Buster Carroll rounding out the top five. Mullins jumped to the lead of the fourteen car field when the green flag was displayed. Harris followed with Kiser in tow. Mullins had all he could handle with Harris dogging him for the first two thirds of the event. Harris would keep the pressure on Mullins hot and heavy. Fans were keeping their eye on Travis Hurt. Hurt, the 2007 PMZ Group Limited Sportsman Champ, was making his second start in LMSC and was working his way through the field following his sixth place qualifying effort. Harris made his move on Mullins when the 2007 Pro-Line Trailer Sales Late Model Stock Car Champion slipped coming out of turn four. The two veteran drivers battled side-by-side for a few laps before Harris would get the advantage. Harris brought Hurt and Buster Carroll with him as Mullins faded with an extremely loose racecar. Harris looked to be on his way to victory, but a part failure would sideline him late in the race. A broken right front wheel would open the door for Hurt and he would not let that door close as he led the rest of the way to pick up his first ever LMSC win in only his second start. The 18-year-old Hurt was followed to the line by Carroll, Mullins, Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell and Kevin Smith.
