Saltwater, Sand, and Racecars, OH MY!
Usaully this time of year is when most teams are winding down thinking about next season. But a lot of the best LMSC teams in the south will head for "The Beach", Myrtle Beach that is. While this weekends Myrtle Beach 400 is another race, it's also a reason teams and families can go to a race and have a vacation at the same time. Some people may go out a have a good time in the evening, but starting today, the daytime hours will be all business at Myrtle Beach Speedway. And Race22 will be there to cover every aspect of it.
As always the big question is, "Who will walk away with the $10,000 first place prize?" Will one of the drivers who race the Virginia tracks come and steal it, Maybe red-hot Davin Scites or super fast Wayne Ramsey? Or maybe one of the boys from just North of the S.C. line come take it? Brad Brinkley, Matt McCall, Rodney Cook and the UARA runner-up Mark Setzer should all be strong. Then of course you have the masters, Jamey Caudill and Frank Deiny, they will for sure be near the front when it's time to settle it. All of those above will have to deal with the Myrtle Beach regulars for sure. Rick Smith won an impressive 16 wins on route to the track championship, followed closely by Staurt Ricks who had 8 wins of his own this year. If all that competition isn't enough, Dennis Setzer is supposedly flying in after his truck race to drive the Romeo Guest car, and we all know what he's capable of.
One things for sure, it will be a barn-burner. Fun in the sun, sand, the mighty Atlantic and racecars. It really doesn't get any better than that, and I for one can't wait.
Strating Friday we will have interviews, photos, car lists, you might even find out what the teams did at night, you never know. One things for certain though, you'll only find it all right here on RACE22.com.
