Winston-Salem, NC: Ryan Robertson and Robertson Racing have locked in sponsors for the 2008 season. With the return of all major sponsors from the 2007 season and the addition of three new ones, Robertson is looking forward to racing LMSC and eight races with Savage Energy™ in the UARA series.
Returning as primary sponsor for the Robertson’s three late model cars is Carolina Wood Floors. CWF is currently celebrating its 20th year of business as the local hardwood specialist in Winston-Salem.
“It has been great being associated with such a talented young driver,” said Mike Causby, owner of CWF. “We feel like we have really benefited from the sponsorship over the last two years and are looking forward to another great season.”
New to the late model team is Winston-Salem State University’s Motorsport Management program. The mission of the program is to make sure students are prepared for management positions in the motorsports industry with a focus in Motorsport Operations and Motorsport Marketing and Event Management.
Returning as the team’s television media sponsor is the WCWG CW20. The CW is known for shows such as Smallville and Beauty and the Geek. WSJS 600AM/1200AM radio has signed on as an additional media sponsor. WSJS is the Triad’s News Radio. It features such local on-air personalities as Brian Freeman and JR Snyder as well as nationally syndicated shows like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
“A media sponsor makes the sponsorship more valuable for both the race team and for the paying sponsors,” said Melissa Lynes, MediaFit Sport Marketing Manager. MediaFit is the team’s marketing agency. “Media sponsors provide increased exposure through advertising and media sponsored events included in their sponsorship package.”
In addition to running in a set of core LMSC races throughout NC, Robertson will run in 8 UARA races during the 2008 season. Savage Energy™, manufactured by Carolina Beverage Corporation, the makers of Cheerwine, will sponsor the #31 Chevrolet. The 4th generation family-owned company shares the same tradition of the Robertson family’s three generations of stock car racing.
“We are looking forward to getting the exposure and really getting Savage Energy’s™ name out there through racing,” said Tom Barbitta, Carolina Beverage Corporation’s VP of Marketing. “This brand is about edge, aggressiveness and adrenaline and the events give us a great way to promote this.”
Savage Energy™ comes in a sleek, black wide-mouth plastic 16oz bottle so it “Goes Wherever You Prowl!”
Robertson Racing is currently working with sponsors to finalize the 2008 racing schedule.
“We are excited to be able to move forward to the next level of racing,” said Mike Robertson, team owner. “We are looking forward to another great year of racing and working with all of our sponsors.”
