Mooresville, NC ~ Brandon McReynolds has had a great start to his Melling Select Rookie season on the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Car series, but some changes this week may help take his season to a new level.
McReynolds team this week announced the addition of 2002 UARA-STARS Series Champion and 2006 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year, Danny O'Quinn, Jr. O'Quinn obviously has a lot of experience on the UARA tour being a former champion of the series and hopefully he'll be able to bring some of that knowledge to help McReynolds team bring up their game.
McReynolds only needs a little extra boost considering his last two races have brought him 10th and 14th place finishes, not to mention that he has won the last two Holley Performer of the Race(Hard Charger) awards. O'Quinn will serve as McReynolds' driver coach as well as spotting for the young driver on race days.
Team owner, Larry McReynolds, commented that "acquiring the services of a driver with this much experience and success in the UARA Series should be a great asset to the team in many ways".
This move has come just in time as the series heads to the first of two stops at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN and will be a huge help to McReynolds on the biggest most prestigous track the UARA-STARS compete on.
Look for McReynolds to be a top contender when the series rolls to Bristol for round #4 of the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Car series and maybe, just maybe O'Quinn can get McReynolds a little help in the only are he's been lacking ... qualifying.
