Hickory, NC ~ Hickory Motor Speedway will present a very special event for race drivers and their fans on Saturday July 19th, The Dwight Huffman Memorial presented by Cars Plus in Lenoir, NC! The race night will be a tribute to Dwight Huffman featuring Lap Leader incentives and additional pay for drivers throughout the field in a Seventy-Seven Lap feature for the Bojangle’s Late Model Stock Cars. Huffman known to all throughout NASCAR as a Weekly Racing Series Legend was the promoter at Hickory Motor Speedway in 1986. Huffman formed Dwight Huffman Racing in 1980 and his race team has won numerous track championships as well as winning the ultimate prize in short track racing in 1997 as his team took home the highly sought after NASCAR Winston Racing Series National Championship with Dexter Canipe Sr. at the wheel. With the enhanced purse, signature trophies and special incentives for leading the Late Model Feature as well numerous fan give-a-ways throughout the race night, this promises to be a very special night indeed. Also racing on July 19th will be the Jewelry Exchange Limited Late Models, Pro-4’s, Street Stocks and the Red Baron Race Parts Hobby Stocks.
