Posted by Nan I also found that there was less fighting because you have a deeper understand of where she is coming from (i.e. the war in the balkans, what it means to be slavic etc.) That isn't to say that I am not fond of other cultures or that I dislike other races, I just have a particular interest in my own culture and enjoy it. Interestingly, if you are a i.e. Bosnian Croat and dating a Slovenian Croatian, right there, you have 3 different areas of the balkans to discover and their culture/ways that could keep you busy for quite sometime. If the girlfriend of the same culture knew that language (Croatian) then she could initiate herself into the family even more. In my humble opinion.

The reason I prefer women that are caucasian and slavic (as well as catholic) is because I feel very passionate about my slavic background and my faith and having that commonality enables she and I to appreciate the little nuances of those things.
