Two Civigenics private prison guards are in jail tonight facing federal drug delivery charges after they attempted to buy illegal narcotics to bring into their private prison in Liberty County.
Shondalyn S. Jones, 25, of Dayton, and Manitra L. Taylor, 42, of Cleveland, were employed by the CiviGenics Corp., when they were arrested by undercover agents about 11:45 a.m. in a parking lot located at the intersection of Main and U.S. 90 in Liberty.
The two guards are alleged to have attempted to buy marijuana and ecstasy to bring into the prison to a Federal inmate. Civigenics operates the prison under a contract with the U.S. Marshals Service.
