In most cases if the investigation was completed you may be able to rehire with the state, unless a "do not retire" letter was placed in your file. If you quit pending investigation, the state can place a "do not rehire" letter in your file. Your best bet is to contact the TDCJ HR headquarters in Huntsville and make a request for a copy of your personnel file. Remember they have to disclose your file to you if a request is made in writing. Under the Texas Open Records Act they can charge you up to $0.10 per page for a copy.
