Relax; there is still an opportunity to join the best baseball organization in Middle Tennessee. All are welcome. I appreciate all of the phone calls and interested parents and players. I realize competitive baseball is growing exponentially in our area. Competition is a good thing and makes everyone better; however, I would like to take this opportunity to point out a few differences in US and the rest.
The Smyrna Outlaws started in 2005, with the intention to provide special children with the chance to further their baseball knowledge and abilities. This organization is not for everyone and has not worked for everyone in the past. I personally hand pick all coaches based on experience and their ability to relate to the players. I say all of this to assure you the Outlaws are not "a fly by night organization"; we did not wake up one morning and say "I think I will start a travel ball team". This is professionally done with an excellent core group of leaders and administrators.
This year we will field a 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, and 11U teams. I have heard the rumors that we will not have certain teams this year. Let this serve as notice: we will be playing and we will be winning. No team or Organization has won as many tournaments, games, or hearts of their fans as the Smyrna Outlaws.
If you are interested in coaching or joining the administrative team for the 2009 season, please contact me before October 1st. Oct. 1st we will be holding a coaches and administrative meeting. Parent interviews and player try-outs will be held in mid-October. There are several new and exciting changes for the ’09 season including an affiliation with a local training facility, 501-C charity status, and much more. Come join the hundreds of parents and almost 80 players that know what it is like to be an OUTLAW!
Please feel free to call if you have any questions or comments.
